MachSpeed Rebate Ripoff Scam Ada Illinois

I purchased a Machspeed 1GB thumdrive in January 06.
I called Machspeed for directions to fill out rebate. I supplied all materials to Machspeed for my 30 & 10 dollar rebates.

My item was defective and actually missing a serial number. Linda at Machspeed instructed me to use the RMA number per her authority, for the serial number. I was also told to forward this particular form to her in the rebate dept. Later I spoke with Linda who clearly stated she had my materials on her bulletin board. I called Machspeed in April and they looked me up, saying my check would be coming soon.

I didn't get a check as of May 30. I filled out their new online form. They told me i was rejected as I did not provide original invoice materials. Bunk.

I provided their form plus all other information Machspeed requested. I had thought I would be rejected for serial number, though Linda had given me clearance on my rebate with her RMA authorization. To be rejected , after the Rebate person at the company handles my paperwork in person is absurd. It is also ludicrous that anything was missing.

I have never had a rebate rejected on false qrounds. Mistakes are made but my form was confirmed to be in the hands of their rebate person and with a note she had instructed me to write , with a message to give the paperwork to Linda.

What can I possibly do? I have all paperwork xeroxed, phone logs, phone records etc. It's bad enough waiting over 4 months for a rebate, but to have it go sour twice (once defective product with no serial number, second this rejection on false grounds)

Hope this shows up on internet search and can guide others. I still want my $40. I would not have purchased the product without this rebate.
