My annual premium has been increased $1000.00 because of claim that they handled. An annual increase of nearly the amount of a one time payout sure is a rip off. Here is the story.
On a wintery day I was traveling on Interstate 89 northbound. I was in the left lane overtaking 2 slower vehicles. As I pulled to about the side of the first vehicle that vehicle lost traction with its rear tires and swung into my lane in front of me. I struck the drivers side front with my passenger side front.
Both vehicles were damaged and I gave all the information to my insurance agent figuring the other driver was at fault and they would fight it out.
The damage to my car was ~$1500.00 and the repairs were done and paid by Main Street America, National Grange minus the deductible.
After a few weeks my agent informed me that they determined the accident to be 50/50 responsibility , no-fault and I would get none of my deductible returned.
