I went to this dealer because they were advertising 120% of the book value of your trade in value.  After meeting with a salesman, I inquired about such promotion, his reply was "yeah, but you are only allowed one promotion, so if we give you 120% of the trade value, then you can't get the sale price of the car" that was the first red flag.

I walked the lot looking at pre-owned vehicles, I noticed there were no prices on any of the cars.  I saw a 2010 Chevy Malibu I was interested in.  I asked about the price and he said I don't know, the managers don't list the prices, I have to go ask...but do you want to take it for a test drive?  Now, why would I even test drive a car I cannot afford, so I said no, tell me the price first.  He said, "If I have to guess, I would say about $17,500."

I would have walked out at this point but my wife was really looking to get rid of her existing Hyundai at a decent price, so I test drove the car and decided I liked it and would take it.  The negotiating process was difficult, misleading and deceptive, but I am going to skip to the end because it would take me forever to describe our conversations and negotiating, suffice it to say, I never got a straight answer.

Bottom line was they were going to give me the car for $14,900.  I fill out the financing information and they get back to me the next day and tell me to come down and look at the financing deal I was approved for.  Rather than give me the details, he just says "Your monthly payment will be $359."  I said what is the terms and interest rate?  He says he has to go check...he comes back and says the interest rate is 8.99% which I said is not acceptable as I can get my own financing for 4.5%, but I asked anyway, what is the term and he tells me 6 years (72 months).

WHAT?  $359 x 72 is almost $26,000!!!  How the h**l am I paying $26,000 for a car they said was $14,900?

I promptly walked out and will NEVER go anywhere near that place again.

I suspect what they were trying to do was add the trade in value they said they were giving me to the loan amount and hope that I was mentally challenged and would not realize before it was too late.

Stay away from these CROOKS!
