Mechanics Heating & Air Conditioning, After spending 1376.31, the air conditioning is still not working. ripoff Marietta Georgia

My air conditioning went out on Wednesday 7/31/07 and my husband contacted Mechanics Heating and Air Conditioning for repair -they arrived and diagnosed my system as the condenser contacts closed and that the condenser fan and compressor not operating. The technician further stated that the capacitor was not starting the fan or the compressor - so he advised me to replace the capacitor which he stated he did. He charged me 1057.82 for that visit.

Saturday, August 4, 2007, the air was broken again. I contacted customer service at Mechanics Heating and Air Conditioning and told them that the air was not working and that a technician was just here at our house on July 31, 2007 - he was very rude and told us to call back on Monday to make an appointment - I proceeded to tell him that we recently had a technician at our home and the air is not working and that we had three small children present and needed immediate servicing - he said he did not care and that a technician would not be available until Monday.

We could not wait - and I found the number of the technician that was previously at our home on the caller ID and dialed his number. He later came out and replaced the part; that he said he originally placed in the first place and sold my husband an additional part for $318.49.

After spending $1376.31, the air is still not working properly - it's not blowing in all rooms.

We contacted the company and told them that it was still not working and they offered to replace the whole unit for an additional $2400.00 if I made a decision within 24 hours, at this point I feel that we were taken advantage of because of the heat wave we have been experiencing here in Atlanta , GA and the lack of knowledge we have with air conditioning units. I believe that I am a victim of bait and switch. We never saw the parts he replaced and we never saw the parts he put into the unit.
