Medical Billers Network runs ads in rural newspapers under Help Wanted listing an exciting new money making career opportunity. You call them up and for a mere $250 you can be on your way to being a medical biller after 20 hours of training. You are promised a certificate from Medicare once you complete the training and for an additional $125 you can join the clearinghouse once you secure your first doctor. You are also told during this interview that the medical files are transferred via email and that they will personally help you find your first doctor.

You download all the modules for the training sessions. The original 20 hours turns into 100 hours of training. Somewhere in the training it tells you must buy a coding book to pass the test. This book costs $60+. You buy the book and start the testing. Once you start the testing you start seeing dates of 2001 making the medicare information three or more years old.

After the testing is completed and passed you will never receive your certificate from medicare because it does not exist. However, now you can proceed to the doctor data base. In checking the listed doctors with the actual phone book you cannot find any of these doctors listed. By this time the 60 days have expired and you can no longer dispute the charge on your credit card.

This organization does not help you find a doctor to bill for as they promised. No certificate is ever received from Medicare. The training modules and medicare laws are dated 2001 and not adequate to train a person in this field. Furthermore, medical files are confidential and not ever sent in an email as there is no confidentiality with email.

I know many people have been swindled by this company and that they are still out there swidling people. Reports have been filed with the BBB but nothing gets done. All who have been swindled by this company need to join in a class action. I for one have close to $600 invested in this swindle.
