This car dealership is full of scumbags. I purchased a almost brand new Mercedes there for $55,000. After all was said and done my loan was out on $60,000. 10 months later after realizing this car is a piece of garbarge (constant electric failures, speaker failure, air conditioning problems) i proceeded to sell it. I find out that my cards value is $29,000 in Kelly Blue Book..now, i know the economy is rough but how can my car depreciate almost 50% in 10 months!?

I asked 3 seperate car dealers what they thought happened..all replied with "You got raped, the dealer you bought this from most likely got the car for 33k-37k". So basically Mercedes Benz of laguna niguel made a 50% commission on the vehicle!!!! Now i'm stuck having to pay over 20k just to trade this piece of crap in after 10 months...

BEWARE!! THIS DEALERSHIP IS NOT TRYING TO BE HONEST AND MOVE INVENTORY, THEY ARE TRYING TO MAKE AS MUCH AS THEY CAN PER CAR. I don't know a single person that has came back to this establishment after purchasing one car..

by the way, I called them to complain about this whole ordeal and the sales manager replied with "Alot of people have called with the same issue, it's the economy". I then asked him how much he paid for the car that he sold me for 55k..he replied with "Thats none of your business, but i purchased it in auction for 43k, plus put new tires and brakes on it"..HAHA. I then caught him in a lie and called him out on it as i bought the car the same day the former leaseowner on the vehicle turned it in..what a bunch of scumbags..take your business ANYWHERE but here.

Mercedes Benz of Laguna Niguel is AWFUL

AUTHOR: Thescammedone - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, April 02, 2009

I went into this dealership about two weeks ago to check out the C class. The salesman took me on a test drive, I loved the car, and proceeded to bring me into his office to talk costs. I was TOLD the car was around $40,000, After filling out paperwork for over an hour, at the bottom of the page it stated the car was $46,350. When i disputed this with the salesman he said "that's how much it costs", I then freaked out at the guy and he started to try and haggle with me to move the car for between 44k-46k. What a bunch of scum. I asked for the sales manager, he was a smooth talking moron. I then decided to purchase the car anyway at 43k being that was around the kelly blue book value. Before i decided to sign the dotted line i asked to take the car to my mechanic for a check up, i trust my mechanic. Thats when s**t HIT THE FAN. They continued to rant about "mercedes certified" and blah blah blah..they REFUSED to let another mechanic look at the car..I then told the sales manager i would bring my mechanic to their garage to observe while the MERCEDES service team checks out the car..he got really hot tempered and tried to turn it around on me stating "our mechanics are the best in the city, why bring your own, thats an insult to mercedes benz". As i walked out i smelt something awful..then i remembered it was the s**t that this dealership full of scum was feeding me over the last THREE hours.

"..THEY ARE TRYING TO MAKE AS MUCH AS THEY CAN PER CAR.."
- Your right that is such a RipOff. I mean how dare a company actually try and make money. They should be instantly shut down and the owners be taken out to the back and shot. Or better yet how about going "old school" on them with tar and feathers. Okay back to reality...this is not a RipOff. You were free to take the deal or not. Why didn't you check the value of this car BEFORE you plunked down 60K?

Also, you were not 'raped', and you quite frankly should have instantly gone to their manager and then left any car dealer who said that. Because that is not appropriate.

As to why they would say that. They will tell you what you want to hear, they want you to think that they are your "friend". When in fact they would(and probably) do the exact same thing given the opportunity. If they sense you feel you got a bad deal, they are going to jump on that and tell you what you want to hear. I have had salespeople at the SAME dealership tell me how the other salesperson gave me a bad deal, but they would "treat me right". So just some advise that you can't trust any salesperson at their word. If you are going to buy a car verify the price BEFORE, and get eveything in writing.

You should have done your homework.

A car dealer can (and will) sell a vehicle for whatever a customer is willing to pay. That's how a free market works. The problem here is that you apparently made zero effort to research the market value of the vehicle before you bought it. I guarantee you that if that is your normal approach to car shopping, you are going to get burned every time. You can't negotiate a price for a vehicle if you are completely clueless as to its market value. The salesperson on the other end of the negotiation is going to pick up on this rather quickly and take you for as much as possible. This would happen at virtually any car dealer. Not just this one.

It is not the sellers responsibility to make sure you get a fair deal (whatever that is). You are the only one responsible for looking out for your interests. What you did was the equivalent of walking into a cage full of lions with steaks hanging out of your pockets. Not very smart.

A Couple Of Things

I hate car dealers as much as anyone BUT. You're trying to unload a luxury vehicle at the worst time in history. They're giving $10 to $20,000 OFF the price of a NEW vehicle, I'd hate to see what used ones are going for. A vehicle in your price range is probably in the worst category. Now, you state you bought "an ALMOST BRAND NEW Mercedes". IF it was an almost brand new mercedes, how could you be having all those problems and if you were, wouldn't they be covered under some type of warranty work? Last year when gas got to $4 a gallon, those large USED pick up trucks and SUV's LOST 17% of their value IN ONE MONTH. Car dealers COULDN'T GIVE them away, nobody wanted them. Besides, car dealer and honest don't belong in the same sentance. You don't state what year your vehicle is OR how many miles it had on it when you purchased it, so it'd kind of hard to say if you really got hosed or not, but probably so.
