I thought TMG Inc. was a legitimate company because I couldn't find any bad information about them. But I also was having trouble finding ANY information on this company. This is because they changed their name from The Merl Group to TMG Solutions/Inc. I don't think this company is registered with the Better Business Bureau. Changing the name doesn't make it a new company. They probably changed their name to hide their shady past. 

TMG Inc. is advertising "Entry level marketing and sales positions." TMG has appeared in career fairs at university's targeting desperate young college students as well as CareerBuilder. They promise quick advancement throughout the company. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. They will contact you less than 24 hours after submitting your resume. Have you in for an interview the next day, and then call you right back to schedule an interview later the same week. You will then have to "job shadow" for about 8 hours (unpaid). You will then travel door-to-door with your interviewer (which has probably only been employed at the company for a few months) and attempt to sell cell phones and plans to mom-n-pop shops (large businesses are avoided for whatever reason) in rural areas. It is supposed to be B2B which means Business to Business but you will actually target the owners of small companies and secretaries' personal accounts. No appointments are set up and these companies are not expecting you. 

TMG claims to be expanding because T-Mobile is a new client. Yet, the salespeople are not associated with T-Mobile - they don't even have business cards. They exaggerate the coverage maps so that they can convince people that T-Mobile is better than Verizon and AT&T. They put on a front about being honest. Don't be fooled by the cheesy suits and the nice business suite.

This is a legitimate company and I don't think it is a scam. However, it is shady. They don't offer the customers honest deals. They will pay you very little and promise you'll be making 100-120K in less than 2 years. When in reality, you will have a terrible job, make little money, work long hours (7:30-5:30 don't be late), and bust your bum for a buck fifty. And the only way to get have a chance of success is to rip-off customers, "clients" and employees below you. Oh yeah, and you will have to use your own vehicle to travel to your rural "territory", and buy your own gas to get "door to door." You will also have to give out your personal cell phone number to potential customers and use your personal minutes in order to get sales. The company doesn't provide a legitimate business card to use, compensate you fully for your gas and mileage, or provide a security guard for your long journey. 

Bottom line: It's not worth it! Don't fall for it. They people interviewing are salesmen after all.
