Landscaping Help

I have a small landscape company getting ready to hire for fall clean ups. I am going to need to add an additional 2-3 people to my crew. Right now I am looking for someone to work occassionally when an extra hand is needed. This is the slow time of year and I have a cutting crew but am still getting clean up work once every week or every other week and am looking for extra help when these jobs come up. If you are available or looking for occassional work please respond.

The right person should have experience, but a good worker who is on time, polite, etc... is ultimately more important to me. I am more interested in someone with bed work knowledge (weeding, pruning) but will consider all equally. You must have a way to get to work. I will not pick up at the T or drop off at the T. Please respond with work related history and availability. I ask you amuse me by actually writing your experience in an email and not just sending me a blank email with an attached resume because if you do I will spend as much time looking at it as you spent sending it to me (please try and get the job if you actually are interested and not just applying because you need a money.---I am not trying to sound rude, I just don't want to waste my time or yours). Pay is $11.50 an hour, if you are looking for more money and won't be happy please seek work elsewhere. You will be given a 1099 to fill out, so proper ID is required, which means proof of your social security number.

mike brennan lies and dissembles:

obviously i know plenty about business and have my facts straight., mike has been hiring employees and misclassifying them as subcontractors for more than a year. by law, and by policy any  liability insurance he has CANNOT cover these employees. if one of them gets hurt on your property you are not covered, and neither is mike brennan.

his liability insurer assumes his guys have MA workmen's comp, and state-mandated medical coverage. (that's spelled out  in any MA  liablity policy.) some of his  guys have NEITHER.

his liability is null and void when one of the employees fradulently classified as a subcontractor gets hurt, or accidentally breaks your window or crashes Mike Brennan's tractor into  your car, or whatever.

likewise his workmen's comp does NOT cover these guys. it can't . HE DID NOT PAY INTO IT.

it's not enough to examine his workmens comp. documents. you need to see photo ID for EACH employee and that employee's payroll records. because at least some of them are illegally misclassified. they should not be allowed to set foot on your property. THEY ARE NOT COVERED.

and he's exposed himself as a pathological liar. revengemail is an anonymous remailer,and just a quick look around their website shows that they have no way to remove anyone from the site. they haven't even been in touch with mike brennan. that much is obvious just from looking at their website. contact them yourself and ask. don't take my word for it.

if they don't respond to your requests, then it's obvious they would also ignore mike's requests.

and he's dissembling (a kind of lie): i never said i worked for him.

he solicited me with an offer to work for him on a 1099 "because you are a transient worker"  (ILLEGAL)

above i've included a reference to an organization that publishes a flyer about 1099 classification . you'll have to google it because this site forbids me to post the URL.

i will be putting up mike brennan's criminal e-mail advertising a bogus 1099 position on craigslist,and  his email to me offering me the job.

the worst thing is that mike wants to deny employees the coverage the state mandates, including social security payments, but instead of just paying undocumented cash he plans to rip these guys off for a tax deduction at the end of the year. that's what a bogus 1099 means to the employees.

It's very unfortunate that I need to ever respond to this, but is necessary because this person is slandering my company even though he never has worked for me or knows anything about my company.  I did ask this website to remove false information but their stance is they don't remove anything right or wrong.  Unlike Craigslist and RevengeMail, which have already shut him out because of his harrassment and slandering.  RipOffReport doesn't investigate if the information is true,  they just publish it.  Lucky for this slanderer he found a forum  that allows him to write whatever he wants.  In general I find that people who write reviews on places like Yelp and on websites are usually misinformed, bitter,  and for some reason believe they think people care what their opinions are.  I peronally don't read them and for sure make my own opinion, which I trust.   I do wish this person happiness sometime in his life because he is fixated on trying to ruin my which is silly and not realistic.

I've found out  from a former employee that Mike has been using the same scam for at least 1 year.

If you hire Mike. demand proof of insurance, make him prove who is covered, and get employee photo ID's to makes sure every employee is a legal W-2/W-4 employee.

Remember that employees illegaly classified as subcontractors are NOT covered by liability insurance  . Most 1099 scammers have one or two legal employees, but if he has some other guy working on your property that guy is NOT insured!

And workmen's comp won't pay a claim either, until  the fake subcontractor goes to the state and files a complaint.
