I got my bill from my Mastercard creditcard company, and we had a $49.99 bill on it. We don't have a clue were it came from and we'll have to try to figure out how to get our false charge cleared!! This is the first time that we know of getting ripped off like this, and we definetly are mad and frustrated! If anybody knows anything more about this, please let us know!!!!

Same thing happened to me

I had the same charge, which it turned out was an automatic renewal after a free year of XBOX Live. The phone number associated with the charge (provided by my bank)connected me to Microsoft in India. India referred me to Ontario Canada and Canada referred me to a call center in Texas. The person in Texas firmly refused to refund the full amount, but did agree to prorate a refund, effect the date of my call (which was only 14 days into the billed year). Two months later the refund had not processed.
I called 1 800 4MY-XBOX (800 469-9269) and inquired. I provided the cancellation number from the previous call. The person told me a full refund of $49.99 would be credited to my account within 72 hours. No explanation was available as to why a credit had not been processed.
I anticipate that the refund will be processed as indicated.

After trying to find out more info on our problem, we did make contact with MSN and figured out that X-Box Live has an automatic renewal and that is what was charged to us. I was in error for blaming Microsoft of not getting something for nothing. I do however don't like the policy of the automatic renewal!!!

found a discrepency on our company credit card, after reading the rip-off report

Did you order a computer in the last two years?
I recently found a discrepency on our company credit card, after reading the rip-off reports, I decided to dispute the charge with the credit card company. They gave me the number to MSN customer care services 1-800-386-5550 where I spoke with a Chris in customer care. Here I cancelled a "free-trial period" offer for MSN that supposedly came with some computers that our company ordered from Dell. I hope this may resolves some peoples ordeals with MSN.
