I originally placed an annuity in the amount of $8000 with Midland National in 2006 when I received a substantial settlement from a class action lawsuit. The agent, Thomas "Randy" Huffmaster, was referred to me by a friend. He was very cordial and professional in the beginning, answering all questions and making me feel comfortable placing my money in his care.

In 2009, I had some unexpected expenses, so I had to withdraw some $5000 from my annuity. He was not pleased with this, but he worked with me to accomplish this. I received my 1099-R at the beginning of 2010, and that is the last correspondence I have received from my agent or from Midland National itself. I was supposed to receive at least an annual report of the progress of my annuity; I have no idea how my money has fared since 2009. I am supposed to have a bottom line guaranteed return; I have no idea whether my annuity has given me this return or not.

When I have tried to contact Mr. Huffmaster, the only message I receive is that his number has been disconnected. I have called directory assistance on several occasions and have been advised that no number exists for this person in that area. He probably only has a cell phone, and they do not give that information over the telephone. I have no telephone number to gain direct access to Midland National Life Insurance Company, or I would have already done so.

My concern is that Mr. Huffmaster either no longer works for Midland National, or that he has taken the remainder of my annuity for himself. Please assist me with this problem.
