On July 1st, 2010, I placed an order with Modern Reproductions. I sent a check because they offered a 10% discount. They told me that I would receive the items within one week after the check has cleared. The check was cashed two weeks later but the items were not delivered.
I called several times to the phone number in their website. It happens that this phone sent you to a call center. The assistant takes your phone number, name and addresses and they tell you that within 48 hours you will get a reply. It never happens. I asked to talk to the supervisor of the call center to mention that they may be involved in a fraudulent operation. The supervisor came to the phone to say that that was not the case. Her name was Deborah one time, and another time she was Jean. I also sent numerous e-mails to which I did not get a reply. When I mentioned that I would report the business as a fraud, I got an e-mail saying that they cancelled my order and they would be refunding my money. Two days later I got a partial order delivered. I was missing a side table. I called and called again to ask for the table or the refund. They took my name and phone number and e-mail and the message was that within 48 hours I would get a reply. Never got it.
The business seems to be operated by a pair of guys, John and Brian. They seem to be located in England and they run a fraudulent operation in USA and UK. They change the name of the business often, now they go by Famous Furniture. When I asked where the call center was located, sometimes they tell me in NY and sometimes in Atlanta, Georgia, and sometimes in the Pacific Coast. I have reported this incident with the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) and with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), which already has numerous complaints about this business and it has an F grade. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY; BE AWARE OF DIFFERENT NAMES BUT THE SAME GUYS AT WORK.

After I posted my report on Modern Reproductions, I got an e-mail with information about UPS delivery of the side table. Finally the table arrived and it was in good condition. According to the package, the table was shipped from London, via some place in Georgia. What it should have been a 7-day transaction, it turned into almost 2-month transaction with a lot of aggravation and wasted time.
