Part of July 4, 2005 Mor furniture promotion was 'no sales tax' will be paid by consumer. Misleading, what MOR did was create a coupon amount then charge a sales tax after coupon amount was deducted. Jerry and another salesman assured that no sales was tax was included in the amount. The invoice amount provided at time of delivery shows a different amount than the invoice I sign at place of purchase.
On 7/7/05 I spoke with the general manager Monty concerning the over charge and Monty decided he would credit my account $199.99 but would take 3-5 business days to complete credit.
As of 7/14/05 and three attempts to contact Monty no credit has been given.
Mor needs to improve their customer expectation and explain what their promotions really are.

If your purchase is $500 and there is a no tax promo where the tax gets backed out and your bill still says $500. What is the problem?

I used to work at Mor and every so often I would get an unfornate soul who did not understand the 'no sales tax' promotion. The submitter did not explain his entire situation but I'm assuming it's what I've had to deal with every so often.
Let's say you are looking at a sofa for $1000 and they are offering no sales tax. Let's say the tax is $200. So on a normal day you would pay $1000 plus $200 tax equaling $1200. But since there is no tax what happens is this. The $1000 sofa gets discounted $200 on the receipt. So now you are paying $800 for the sofa plus $200 for taxes equaling $1000 which is the same amount charged to you without the sales tax, right? Legally they need to have taxes on the receipt so they use the tax amount as a form as a coupon.
