Mortgage Auditors of America LLC MAA Mortgage Auditors, forensic auditing, loan modification Southfield, Michigan

We signed up with Mortgage Auditors of America (M.A.A.) back on January 10, 2010. We were told that this company was going to investigate (audit) our mortgage company to see if we were victims of predatory lending. I first hear about this company on the radio and we decided to call them because we were months behind on our mortgage and needed help with them.

We met with Mr. Michael D. Williams, a representative of M.A.A. He told us that his company would hire lawyers to investigate our mortgage company to see if we were victims of predatory lending. In other words, we shouldn't had even gotten a loan due to our poor credit and they were also going to see if it was possible that we would no longer have to pay our mortgage or be placed into a fixed mortgage rate.

The whole payment process was $1995, the first payment of $1000 was paid to them on February 10, 2010 via our checking account. The other 2 payments of $497.50, which weren't given to them nor even asked for by the M.A.A was due on March 3, 2010 and April 2, 2010. The main problems with M.A.A. started when we would try to call them to ask them some questions and they would never answer the phones. The only way we would get a call back was to basically threaten them via email  by stating that we would file a complaint against them. 

When Mr. Williams would call back, he would say that the reason no one would answer the phones was because they were so busy that they were in the process of upgrading their phone system.

The last correspondence we ever received from M.A.A. was a letter stating that they were a couple of weeks behind & that everything was still okay. Nowadays whenever you try to call them, the operator says "the number you have reached is temporarily out of service". Since this company has obviously failed to help us with anything we feel that we should get all of our money back.
