Mount Trexler manor has misleading job duties as well as a work environment filled with harassment. The supervisors will schedule med techs and mentors to work in the kitchen when no one else can, which is a lack of duty of the supervisor to hire staff for the kitchen alone. First shift med tech on certain days has to distribute medicine, serve breakfast and lunch, take clients out to smoke break every 2 hours for 15 minutes and have to do 15 minute checks on about 20 clients. the administration should be aware of the fact there is no way for this person to efficiently check on clients every 15 minutes and do everything else. In fact its just not possible. This is a total lack of the supervisors job to have enough staff working. On the weekends the administration will only have on staff the legal amount of employees needed which is 5-7 employees with over 40 clients. This creates a dangerous work environment for staff out on the floor by themselves if there was a physical outburst to happen with a client, and a depressing work environment for staff working alone on the floor with all the clients. if 5 employees were in the building and 2 were out with clients and there was a fire, how is that enough employees to evacuate over 40 clients in time if there was a fire?
The supervisor does not mention in the interview that you will be put in the kitchen when applying as a mentor, med tech, or personal care assistant. For years they had someone who would work in the kitchen but was put under so much stress with his health he had to stop. Now they stick mentors, med techs and personal care assistants in the kitchen. This is unprofessional to have employees with job titles that have nothing to do with working a kitchen be forced to. As a personal care assistant you are required to check on about 20 clients every 15 minutes and they expect you to clean rooms, do laundry, and take clients out to smoke break for 15 minutes. Not possible, but they expect it of you. The amount of drama the administration focuses on is ridiculous, on numerous occasions they will request an employee to come into their office and ask them questions about another employee pitting them against each other. This creates a work environment filled with harassment. They also will try and snoop on facebook to see your personal life. If you call off and state you are sick they will ask you what is wrong which is against the law yet they will ask anyway and then harass you about it. The administration announces at rounds when someone has called off sick which is a lack of privacy.
The lead mentor supervisor screams at the top of his lungs at his staff which has led to a number of employees resigning. The Personal care assistant supervisor is incompetent in scheduling work evaluation's for raises and finding staff to cover when you request off a month in advance. Multiple employees have yet to receive a raise and have worked there for over a year. The administration creates an enviroment of fear, harassment, and lack of motivation to come to work. since resigning my mental health is back to normal and I am happy at my new job.

Sorry, Bob, but everyone who worked with you knows that you are a sycophant. I'm glad MTM took care of you after your injury, but the fact is that none of the criticisms listed here are untrue or unfair. But you didn't actually address any of those criticisms, did you?

The real truth about mount trexler manor
AUTHOR: Todd Wilkinson - (USA)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, January 28, 2016
I've worked at Mount trexler manor for several years and it is by far one of the worst places to work for there is so much lack of teamwork, lack of communication and of course lack of staff. during the interviews you are not told when hired that you will be juggled from different departments whether cooking in the kitchen alone, or doing personal care, when graduating from college or if already have received a bachelors or a masters, you do not receive the pay rate as told on the interview. the administrator is also a coward, very immature she spends most of her time laughing and joking around in her office with the med teck and if there is a problem instead of confronting a staff she text the receptionist to do her job for her. The lead mentor supervisor is a hypocrite he does in fact scream from the top of his lungs towards his staff as if they were children I was in fact screamed at many times myself which led certain staff resigning with tears in their eyes. the lead mentor was reported by his superiors due to his unprofessional and gross behavior but it was excused due to favoritism also the Mentors are not considered care specialist they really are cab drivers and when the client's complain to the lead Mentor or threatened staff not to go to doctors appointments then they are bribed with food not according to the clients diet, and with cigarettes the supervisors would give the clients whatever they want in order for them to just go. The owners of this facility only show up twice a year only to give family portraits of themselves on Christmas cards to hand out to the clients or just to come by to sell their daughters Girl Scout cookies without no concern on how each department of the building are doing.

Horrible Place to Work
AUTHOR: Anonymous - ()

I absolutely agree with the person who stated this place is just plain awful. I was employed there some time ago when I was working on my bachelors in social work. This place went against all the values I was taught. There were clients from both the adult floor, and young adult floor having sex with each other. There were no real life skills taught to the clients, and no formal training for the staff. I was hired to be a mentor, and then in the middle of my employment period there, I was told I was a support staff. I was asked to clean rooms, and even a urinal bottle for one of the disabled clients. I was never clear of what my role in the agency was. I was often told to interact with the clients, but then I was told not to. One of the clients (young adults) became pregnant. The whole place was a mess. The young adults would receive holiday cards from the family who owned the establishment. These "holiday" cards would show pictures of the family on vacation. How insensitive?!?!? The supervisor was very rude, and would promise the young adult clients many things but never come through. The same supervisor was NEVER around, and was rumored to be sleeping with a married woman from administration who was equally rude. The thought of waking up to come to work literally depressed me, and made me cry! I was treated poorly and lied to from the very beginning. I truly feel bad for the clients who literally have no place to go but this place. My brother has severe mental health and I would NEVER send him here for help.

The other side of story-The truth

Mount trexler manor is one of the finest companys I have ever worked for, as the mentor and activity cordinator I have had 12 to 30 employees, most have won monthly awards, for employee of month,to employee of year.Proud of my staff, and proud of running two departments for 6 years. Our employees are cross trained so they can work any position at any time. All employees are told when hired there duties could change at anytime, and you maybe needed in a different role if someone calls off sick.
The versatility of our staff is what makes our company so strong. Arriving to work, i will see my administrator cleaning rooms,no titles just team work.I have given exit interviews to people that have left, and always thanked me for the experience and I have given references for my mentors That have given notice. The statement about screaming on top of my lungs is a blatant lie.I have altered my voice when i found someone sleeping,or whering headphones not listening or on cell phones in parking lot with their car instead of with their resident.
People who quit without notice like the person who wrote these terrible lies show their lack of care for our residents, lack of integrity, and lack of professionalism. our employees have difficult challenges everyday, but are supported everyday, and safety is always on everybodys mind. Our employees get a free meal every shift, unlimited coffee, beverages, how many companys do that?Vacation, personal days, sick days, and birthday off.Rides to work in bad weather, and home.
Free outing to iron pig games, monthly staff meetings that include some goodies.I love where I work, residents and staff alike, and when someone takes cheap shots,or lie like a rug,I am going to set the record straight.I almost lost my life falling from a roof saving a resident, and MOUNT TREXLER supported my family with meals, and had my job waiting for me when I came back.We are owned by a family,we work as a family, sometimes fight as a family, make up as a family, and love our residents like family.tHE OTHER SIDE OF STORY-THE TRUTH
