MRI Overseas Property - Macanthony MRI have lured us into investing with them, once documents were signed they have ignored us completley, they are currently still trying to get a mortgage set up and just recently sent an email saying that the property manager will be taking care of it now instead of the bank. The lawyers never reply to our many emails, all of which we are asking what is going on? we are at a stump as to what to do Marbella (Malaga) Spain

Our situation sounds similar to others who have "invested" with MRI, we were lured over to Bulgaria for a viewing and were told that MRI would be 100% supportive of the investment and that they would be there every step of the way..... load of horse.....
As soon as documents were signed MRI were no where to be seen or heard of, they passed us on to the lawyers in Bulgaria and they insisted that the mortgage had to be done through a Bulgarian bank by law.
Now the deposit is paid, the lawyers never reply to our constant emails, every now and then there will be a random email that is irrelevant to any of our thousands of questions asked to them in previously sent emails, this is when realisation was sinking in that we cant be dealing with professional people.
Its unbelievable that they are still trying to get the mortgage on the way by saying the bank has gone bust and the the property developer is planning on taking over, we understand this is fraud now and would like to deal with it.
I would love to know any advice anyone would have to some how to deal with these guys from over seas, we are currently living in Australia which is making it difficult and we are already 20,000 in loss from this company.
There will be no trust what so ever to any other future companies we deal with from now on because of MRI.
No one should ever trust them.

MacAnthony Realty International (MRI)/DCC Properties. MRI found guilty of malpractice by the NFOPP

MRI were found guilty of malpractice on various counts by the NFOPP/NAEA, an organisation of which MRI were members. MRI immediately resigned from the organisation and put in an appeal.
The appeal decided that the original decision was correct.
The full hearing can be read at www.cyprus-news-property-buyers.com.
Part of it reads 'The tribunal were appalled to hear of the Company's misleading business practices, including unfulfilled promises of guaranteed rental returns and misleading descriptions of the facilities that would be available to owners.
The Company accepted deposits for unbuilt and unidentified properties. In some cases a purchase price was not included in the documentation provided to buyers. These problems were compounded by the Company's poor service, including their reluctance to resolve grienances after sales had been agreed.
Despite these omissions, the Company's position is that there is no right of cancellation by buyers, and therefore their deposits have not been returned to them. As a result members of the public have lost considerable sums of money resulting from false and enticing statements made by the Company.'
I personally am in contact with many people that this has happened to, including ourselves. MRI make everything sound wonderful and make out that they make property buying easy and a happy experience. Unfortunately, this is far from the truth, in our experience. It has been a complete nightmare, has left us in a really bad position financially, and I would advise anyone to stay away from MRI.
Two of the prominent staff of MRI, Wendy MacAnthony and Michael Liggan have now opened DCC Properties. As these people were working for MRI when people had their problems, which still haven't been resolved, I would also advise staying well clear of DCC Properties.
