The book Child POWMemoir of Survival, is a rip-off.

Anyone who has bought the book believing it to be history is entitled to a refund. 

Child POW is a fake memoir. It has been falsely advertised as a true story.  

The Child POW author is Ms A. L. Peeples, of Lakewood, WA, and she claims that at the age of 8 she was a prisoner of war of the Japanese in the Philippines, China, and Japan during World War II.  

Ms A. L. Peeples writes under the pen name of A. L. Finch.

Ms Peeples wrote that as a girl she was a forced laborer at a Chinese tin mine and at the Japanese port of Kobe. But Japan used only male Allied POWs as slave laborers.

Historians, researchers, and former actual captives of Japan have denounced Child POW as a "fantasy," "fiction," and a "scam.

Buyers who have shelled out the $20.65 that Amazon.com charges for the book or the $18.48 that Barnes and Noble charges can demand a refund.

Whatever amount you paid for Child POW, you are entitled to a refund.

Ms Peeples has self-published Child POW three times, in 2007, 2008, and again this year.  

She appears to have written the book only in an attempt to get a movie off the ground. Beware, promotional websites for the movie Child POW are also trying to sell the book.
