MTM Transportation is being paid for a service they do not provide.
 As a mental health client I can tell you I have spent countless hours on the phone with them trying to arrange transportation.  I have been left on hold for 30 minutes at a time on many occasions.  Today I had to call them 3 times to get them to cancel my trips, and I have been lied to by their employees so many times I have lost count.  On some occasions I have had to have my case manager call them and arrange my transportation with them because they refused and no I was not rude to them. 

It was so much easier when I called the transport company myself and scheduled my trips.  I was never put on long holds and I found them to be very professional.  The middleman MTM needs to go away for the system to work at all.

I don't know how MTM came to land a contract in the state of Kansas.  I am going to email my state legislators again and try to get an answer.

At a time when everyone of our legislators are talking budget cuts, and disabled peoples income went from $219 a month to $100 a month through SRS why was this bureaucracy created? How much is it costing the state of Kansas?  They do not even employ people in the state of Kansas.
They are so bad at the job they are getting paid by the state to do it defies logic.  I suggest anyone who has a problem with MTM write to your state legislators at congress.org, and I will keep writing too until I get some straight answers and they are removed from the Kansas payroll.
