On 6/09/09 I paid $199 to place an ad with MyBoatRV. I was told that these ads would include pictures, and that my fee would be refunded if my boat did not sell within 12 months.  I immediately found missing ads, and ads without pictures. I attempted to call MyBoatRV 3 times to rectify, but none of my calls were returned. Having failed to sell my boat on the 12 month anniversary of my listing, I decided to request a refund. I did so by sending MyBoatRV 4 separate e-mails on 6/15/10, 6/22/10, 7/5/10 and 7/29/10. None of my e-mails were returned.

I tried 1 last time to reach them by phone and actually spoke to the owner Paul Sides. He requested that I mail him a Notarized letter from my bank stating that I still owned the boat and had an existing boat loan. I sent this letter Certified mail the following day and it was refused and stamped "return to sender". If you are wanting to sell your boat or rv, I can not and will not recommend this company! Buying a FOR SALE sign or using another online service will save you $199 and a lot of stress and headaches! Don't just take my word for it. There are numerous complaints against MyBoatRV with the Better Business Bureau, the Texas Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission. Do your research first, like I wish I would have done!

AUTHOR: Paul S - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, September 13, 2010

In over 10 years of business and over 50,000 boats and RVs sold MyBoatRV has had 3 total complaints.  This is one of them.  Not one with the FTC or Attorney General this is a false complaint possibly by a competitor.

The bottom line is that we did exactly as we advertised we would do.  Every site we post on is listed in detail on our website and we post all the ads as advertised.  Our relationship with each site is different and as explained to this customer (if it is a real customer and not a competitor) there are a few sites where we had the option of posting 1 picture or a URL link to all 10 photos and full description.  We opted to post the URL link instead of the 1 picture.

Although very few, there are those people out there who set their expectation of advertising so high there is not way to satisfy them.  Very few, if any, advertising venues offer a "refund" we are one of the very few.  We do, however, have guidelines that must be met to qualify for the refund.  This customer did not meet those guidelines and instead of working with us went directly to the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint (one of only 3 in 10 years... unheard of in the ad business).

For each of the 3 "disatisfied customers" we have had, we can provide the contact info for literally thousands of "satisfied" customers over the course of 10 years.

I suggest anyone who is considering using MyBoatRV consider the fact that in any business there are those you simply cannot satisfy no matter what you do and they will blame the advertiser when in fact it is probably more related to an inflated price, location, or type and age of the product that is to blame.  And then there are competitors who will stoop to such tactics as making false claims on the web at sites like this one.

The "numerous" complaints against MyBoatRV are exactly 3 total in 10 years.  I would put that track record against any other advertising on the internet any day.  There are ZERO complaints with the Texas Attorney General or the FTC.

This customer has sent us threatening letters to go out and bear false witness against MyBoatRV in order to extort money from our company.  Each time this person posts something like this we get an email offering a solution where we pay them off to stop.

MyBoatRV stands by it's service and can provide the testimonials to back it up.  We do not negotiate with "web terrorists".... sorry.

Our testimonials can be researched at: http://www.myboatrv.com/testimonials.htm
