NCIC Network Communications Pay Phones FALSE ADVERTISMENT longview Texas

I had no change or cell and needed to make a call and i was at a local gas station and there pay phone excepted credit cards. on the front of the phone it CLEARLY stated .50 cents for local calls. i made four calls and got the answer machine each time and I did not even leave a message. so the calls were under 5 seconds each.

call #1 cost $11.66

call #2 cost $11.60

call #3 cost $12.98

call #4 cost $12.93

   TOTAL  $ 49.17 and i did NOT even get a hold of anyone or leave a message !!!!

I could have gone into the store and bought a 30 minute calling card for $5.00.

It amazes me how they are getting away with this , how can you advertise .50 cents a call and charge $11 to $13.00 a call. Somebody has to stop these people !!!! Iam lucky I had the availble funds but what if i didnt ?
