It was a few years ago, but it still burns.
A family member had reccomended I renew my mortgage with Northwood instead of the bank.
I had a minor few credit issues but nothing serious.
The 'nice' lady Zeva took my application and said it should be no problem to get the mortgage amount I required. I had 2 weeks to get the deal done before renewing my existing mortgage with the bank. Time went by and I called to see how it was going, I left messages and she didnt return a number of my calls calls. Toward the end of the 2 weeks she said all was fine and delayed some more. Finally after a number of calls she told me the mortgage rate would be 12%, not the current rate of around 5%.
I think she was trying to take advantage of me.

Northwood Mortgage has been around now for over 22 years with over 165 Licensed Mortgage Agents. It is impossible to know this persons situation to assess why the interest rate was so high. We have over 44 Lenders right now and are offering a rate of 2.99% for people who qualify. In Mortgage lending everybody's situation is different and unique. Our clients review all the details on all our mortgages and are never forced to move ahead if they don't like the terms of our agreement. We are part of CAAMP (Canadian Association of Accredited Mortgage Professionals) and IMBA (Independent Mortgage Brokers Association) and are in good standing with both.
