I had my checks attached by my ex-wife some years ago.  In May of this year, I went to family court to have child support terminated as my child turned 21 during that month.  I had some arrears to pay for his college tuition and agreet to have the attachment continue until that amount was satisfied.  They were to continue to take $694 per month until a $7,500 judgement had been satisfied.  That was according to the court order.  Enforcement decided to take $2,776 per month out of my pay.  When I contacted them, I was told that yes, the court order was for the $694 but enforcement does "its own thing".  I tried continuously to have only the proper amount removed as it put quite a damper on my ability to pay my bills.  Apparently Enforcement does do its own thing.  By August 3, the judgement had been satisfied and yet they took another $1,388 out of my August 16 check.  I called a week after that to ask when money would stop being taken from me as the judgement had been satisfied.  I was told that the attachment would stop and that I would recieve a check for the $1,388 within 20 business days.  That didn't happen and another $1,388 was taken out of my September 1st check which prompted another phone call.  With that phone call came aother assurance that money would stop being taken from me and that a check for that amount would also be forthcoming.  I recieved the first check, but the second check was only for $694 instead of $1,388 AND an additional $1,388 was taken out of my September 16th check.  This resulted in my mortgage payment being stopped.  I then again called and was told that it can take up to 20 days from the time they are ASKED to stop taking money (if the judegment has been satisfied) and that they had no record of the second check being $1,388 and that they had not "recieved" the additional $1,388 that had just been taken from me and that I would have to call and ask for that back even though there was no way of knowing when they would "recieve" what they had taken.  The judgement has been satisfied for over a month and half now and even though they automatically take money out, they don't automatically stop, which, in my opionon, amounts to theft.  Apparently it is their "policy" to wait until they are asked to stop taking money to which they are not entitled which they will get around to paying back and eventually stopping.  I've been told 3 times that money would stop being taken, and yet it continues.  What recourse to I have?
