I ordered a payoff of a customer's loan that was refinancing with me.  I ordered it on 2/17/2012 and they said it would take 4 business days.  I never received anything.  The customer ordered the payoff themselves via email on 2/21/2012 and were told it would take 72 hours.  They did not receive it.  It seems to me that the company is willfully withholding payoff information, so that they can earn a few days more of interest on loans that we are trying to pay off.  It should be illegal.  We were finally able to access the payoff via the customer website that the customer was referred to, but no one would give that information to the new mortgage company or to me the loan originator.
