Omega Granite Company Omega Granite Wholesale monument/tombstone fraud/scam Athens, Georgia

I am the owner of George B. Partin and Sons Monuments and on January 26, 2010 we received a fax from Omega Granite Company in Athens Texas. This fax was one of many that we had received on wholesale prices for granite. We had done business in the past with the owner of Omega Granite, William (Billy) Joseph Reagin. At the time we did business with Reagin, his company was Hard Cash Granite Company.

On March 1, 2010 our company purchases 36 pieces of granite, a $3275.00 value.  The order was confirmed by Reagin on March 1, 2010. A check for the full balance was sent to Omega Granite via FedEx on March 11, 2010. The check was received by Omega Granite Company on March 12, 2010. The check was cashed by Omega Granite/Suzanne Brown Reagin, Billy Reagins wife.

Reagin said the granite would be immediately shipped. One week later we had not received the granite and began attempting to contact Reagin via telephone. All of the calls went to voice mail and messages were left, to no avail. On March 25, 2010 an e-mail was sent to Reagin advising him that we had been unable to contact him. Reagin responded to the e-mail on March 25, 2010 and said he had a death in the family and had been out of town. He said he would have the granite sent out for delivery on March 29, 2010. Reagin said to expect delivery in the afternoon of March 30, 2010. The granite did not arrive.

After contacting several other granite wholesalers and retailers in Georgia we have found that it is not uncommon for both Billy and Suzanne Reagin to defraud businesses and/or individuals. It is our understanding that Omega Granite has never existed. Also, it was brought to our attention that Reagin does not report this income to the Internal Revenue Service.

They have evidently been scamming people for quite some time and they need to be stopped.
