Steven Scott contacted me with a $5000.00 loan for 229.00 a month. I was to get a Pay card for Walgrens and call in the number. I did so and he told me that the mney would be in my account in the next 60 plus 8 minutes. When I contacted him tw hours later he passed me off to someone named Martinez who told me that I needed to pay taxes on the loan and the taxes were another 100.00 plus dollars. I told him to take it out of the loan amount which he refused. When I accused him of ripping me off he hem-hawed and finally I said cancel it and return my money. He then informed me that there would be a cancellation charge of almost 100.00 I finally said fine take the cancellation fee out and put the remainder of my 229.00 into my bank account. Nothing has happened and I am still out the money.

SCAM

AUTHOR: Katie - ()

POSTED: Saturday, January 24, 2015

This is a very common scam. There's no valid reason for someone to tell you to put money on a reloadable card & give them access to that money in order to secure a loan. This will never not be a scam.

The only way to stop these scammers is to eliminate their customer base - victims. We as consumers need to educate ourselves & each other. Scammers can't exist without victims.
