I bought an Onkyo TX-NR709 in early 2012. Onkyo had already discovered a heat related problem and was fixing that problem free in 2011. Yet they continued to sekl this faulty product afterward. Mine failed yesterday, March 6, 2015. So i searched for a solution to a possibke cause. To get any help from Onkyo you must register on the site. That is where the problems with their non-existent support begins. The site is designednot to help but to divert, distract, and impede the user from gleaning any informationabout support. This is becoming a trendy tactic with many support sites, maje them as flashy as possible, but provide no information.
Onkyp has received 629.00 fron me, they had best spend it well because Onkyo, Pioneer or any subsidiary will never receive another penny from me. Do Not Buy Their Equipment it is Junk!

howdy! hope you can view my complaint. onkyo has a recall on our receiver since 2012!! subpar defective parts affecting hdmi board amongst other concerns!! i am really really aggravated, they have denied any problems other than firmware updates for five years!!!! had the unit out for servive 4 times,each time they have denied any problem& blamed my tv!!! every conversation via their tech reps to restore audio&video resulted in hdmi fault on the receiver!!! geez, they had arecall on this stinkin thimg, and never once mentioned nor serviced it. !! i am in the process of filing as many complaints,notices to onkyo distributors.alerts,& possible class action litigation to make their holiday sales as dismal as their products!!! hope you read this, if you would like.i can be reached at guapo1213@yahoo.com thanks, pete
