Housing Finance Agency DENIED homeowners' emergency mortgage assistance loan program Harrisburg Pennsylvania

Husband on ss disability. We got behind in payments to CHASE Mortgage, our intrest has increased to 11.25% w/490.91 per mo. We had to pay cobra $700 per mo. for health ins., + keep pym't up. Chase refused to help & solution was to divide past due costs over 3 mo., and add on to reg. pym't. In 24 mos., which PHFA said "no reasonable prospect of applicant resuming full mortgage payment based on applicant's insufficient income to maintain mortgage pym'ts." In 24 mos. we will have higher credit score; refinance at lower rate; or take out reverse mortgage. (husband will be 62 next yr.)

Of course our income is as Phfa said, "an ongoing situation which severely limits the probability of resumption of pym'ts to mortgage maturity." Husband worked for 42 yrs. & did not expect to be disabled!
