Two months ago I saw an advertisement on t.v. They were offerng a free trial, so I decided to give it a try. This has reminded me why I never take free trials. My understanding from the advertisement was that the trial was free other than the shipping of 4.99. I only ordered one product, but got two in the mail. Each were charged 4.99 for shipping, though I did not order the second one. After 14 days, I got charged 89$ each for both products. I did not catch until this month that for the last two months, I have gotten charged 94$ each for both products. I didn't like the product, so when I got the box last month, I didn't pay enough attention to what it was to ring in my mind that I was getting unwanted products from the trial offer. That brings me to my call a couple of days ago. I called the CS department from the number on my CC bill and found out they couldn't take the product back. I did cancel my account, but the Rep did not tell me that the second product was also theirs and that I needed to take care of that one too.
So yesterday, I called the other number. Yes, two products, two numbers of contact, but one company. I got the nastiest customer service rep. She yelled at me on the phone because I told her I felt like her company is guilty of fraudulent practices, and then she hung up on me. I called right back. This time I got someone with the title of an Account Specialist. I told this gal what had happened the day before, and then what happened just previously on the phone with the other rep and her yelling at me and hanging up on me, and she did say the rep was out of line. So, moving on,
I found out that this Company, when you order the eye serum always sends the other product as a package. They do not tell you up front that there are two separate charges for these products and will appear on your CC as that, and they do not tell you when ordering the trial that if you keep it, after 14 days you will be charged the ful price minus the initial shipping charge. So, this is not a free trial at all. Its a deferred payment during the time period you use the product to see if you like it. To me this is deceitful, and is a fraudulent practice. They kept talking about terms and conditions I agreed to when I received their product. I informed the rep that I ordered in on the phone off of an infomercial and there were no terms and conditions scrolling, so I didn't actually agree to anything knowingly. Regardless, there are a lot of fraud points here.
Finally, the product doesn't even work like they advertise. Its not any better of an eye cream than others I have bought at my local beauty store. Buyer beware all the way around.
