This company sells portable dog water bowls and coolers. I placed my order for 2 bowls and a cooler on August 12, 2011. Before I ordered, I emailed them and asked if I ordered that day, when would it be shipped. They responded very quickly that it would ship no later than August 15 and that it would arrive in plenty of time for a trip I had planned on the 25th. I was impressed with their quick response.

My order didn't arrive. The last week of August, I emailed them to ask about the status of my order. They didn't reply. In September I did the same thing. They didn't reply. I called their 800 number, which had a recording saying it was disconnected. In October I called their regular phone number and got voice mail. I left a detailed message about the problem, with my order number and my phone number. Here it is November and they haven't replied or sent my order.

Tonight I noticed they have blocked me from being able to leave comments on their Facebook page (I had "liked" their page when I ordered), even though I hadn't left any negative comments yet. This makes it obvious to me that they knew they ripped me off, had no intention of fulfilling my order, and wanted to block me in case I thought about leaving a negative comment.

I also noticed on Facebook over the past couple of months, that they put their ad on their page and then they take it down a couple of days later. Then they do it again at a later date and take it down again. I guess they figure if they only rip people off on a small scale and then block the people they rip off from leaving comments, nobody else will notice, rather than if they leave their ad up and get a mass number of orders and complaints.

I have filed a chargeback on my credit card to get my money back.

Please accept our apologies

AUTHOR: Pawgua - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, December 01, 2011

We just noticed this report and fully understand and appreciate your concerns.  After reading both your posts, and reviewing all email correspondences between you and Pawgua, we do apologize for accepting your order prior to our bottles being ready, however prior to your purchase you were informed that we were waiting on the lids before we would be able to fulfill your order but that we expected them in the coming days. Unfortunately the lids never did not come as we were duped by the manufacturer and we had to shut operations down and restart the entire manufacturing process elsewhere.  In the coming days we thought we had notified and refunded anyone who had made a purchase and then a couple weeks ago we realized that there were a couple that were not refunded and it seems yours was one of them.  We have since refunded the full balance you paid: $32.69.

With regards to your unanswered emails, we had basically shut down operations back in August and apologize that they were overlooked. With regards to Facebook, we have a third-party monitoring our Facebook page who notifies us of any questionable comments and we were never made aware of anyone being blocked.  Did you post a negative comment?  If so, it's possible that the third-party service noticed it and blocked you and failed to notify us, but we accept responsibility for that and will look into it.  We also have never run any ads promoting the sale of any products on Facebook, we promoted a charity dog walk, but never any products for sale, but please let us know what ad you are describing.

We assure you that this was an oversight and we were not intentionally trying to rip you off.  We hope to have our new bottles ready in time for the spring and will be sending you some when they are ready.  Please accept our apologies for any hassle or inconvenience we have caused.

Pawgua complaint update

AUTHOR: tnp - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 15, 2011

Today I decided to share my Ripoff Report on Twitter. After 3 months of no response from Pawgua and having to do a chargeback, within minutes of my tweet, I received the following email from Pawgua.

"Please accept our sincere apologies for not reaching out to you sooner.  It just came to our attention that a few of the refunds we requested through our credit card processing company were not executed and they have just been re-issued.

Unfortunately, we are still working on making our bottles the way we want them, we have been going back and forth with the manufacturers and it seems like we have to start from scratch with someone else.  Anyhow, it was our mistake for not noticing that people could place orders on the site, particularly since we underestimated the trial and errors of making a bottle that functions the way we expect it to.

You will notice a full refund for your order within the next 7-10 days and we will also be sending you new bottles once we finally get everything resolved with new manufacturer, hopefully right it in time for Spring.

We do not have an official phone line for the business, so please email us at info@pawgua.com if you have any further questions or do not notice the refund in the next couple weeks."

I really have to question this part: " it was our mistake for not noticing that people could place orders on the site".  Reason I question it is because before I placed my order, I noticed their site didn't have the secure site icon, so I emailed them. The same person who sent me the above email replied and sent me a link to a secure page on their site to order from. After I ordered, the same person emailed me to make sure I received a confirmation email. Why would they have done this if they didn't know people could order from their site?

This just isn't adding up. And why ignore my emails and calls until I shared my Ripoff Report on Twitter?

Anyway, I will update again when/if this is resolved.
