I call it as I see it. I feel like an idiot and I also feel taken advantage of.

I enrolled in Penn Foster for $19.00 down and $39.00 a month. Like most in Ohio, I was one of the thousands that got laid off from their job and I could barely keep my head above water let alone pay that bill too. Although having my diploma is something I would cherish, it just didn't seem as necessary as having hot water. I called and said that I couldn't pay but hadn't seen any problems with the service so far (other than the lesson pamphlets were a little shady) and I asked if someone could work with me.

The man I talked to on the phone seemed more than willing to help me. He said that he would eliminate the two months payments and I wouldn't have to pay until the end of the third month coming up. I said I would take that offer.

I had heard from a friend in the Navy that this 'school' was a scam and that when his friend who is also in the Navy finished the Diploma program he tried to enlist and they didn't accept his 'diploma'.

I asked the person I spoke to over the phone if this school was accredited throught the country and if the military would accept it because initially my main goal was to graduate and then enlist. I did not want to get my GED.

I had received a letter that my bank denied a transaction from Penn Foster and called to see what it was about. They were extrememly rude, saying that I needed to make a payment or they were kicking me out and putting my account into collections.

I refused to make a payment. I am still currently enrolled. After reading all of these consumer reports on this website I feel like I should have known about this website sooner. I should have researched.

I printed out the guidelines that I apparently agreed due and have read them over and over. There are shaky loopholes. I think we can shut this company down or at least attempt to.

I feel like I should get the word out there as much as possible that this company is a scam.

They show you NO certificates of accredidation. They show NO proof. I'm not paying a dime more. If they take me to collections, I'm taking them as high as I can.
