performance chips direct - overcharged my creditcard, bogus product, only refunded me half my money. Internet

I made the classic mistake of ordering this so called "chip" before reading the reviews on independent web sites on it.  Bad mistake.  First of all, their product is not a performance chip of any sort.  All it is, is a tiny resistor housed in a plastic box with a tiny dial on it.  The resistor tricks your mass air flow sensor into thinking that the air coming in from your air filter is colder than it actually is. 

This in turn makes your car's computer dump more gas into the cylinders to compensate.  You therefore burn more fuel, and with the air mixture all wrong because of the false signal, you end up losing power as well.  As a result, you lose horsepower and fuel economy.  The very two things this "chip" is supposed to increase. 

Thats not all.  When i received my credit card statement, i was overcharged by $20.  When i called to find out why, they told me it was because I lived in Canada.  Even though there was no mention of additional shipping costs to Canada.  I then returned the product at my own cost.  When I received my next credit card statement, they only refunded me half the money.  What a joke of a company and product.  Don't make the same mistake I made.  Stay away from performance chip direct and their scam of a product.
