I have an unreliable 1996 ford contour I bought from bangor car care, it has more problems than cars I have bought outright in cash for what I paid as a down payment for this peice. bangor car care lied to me by telling me thier car loan would improve my credit when in fact my car loan is not reported to the credit bureaus altough I expect it would be if I fell past due. I have never received any type of billing statement from Persian Acceptance CORP (bangor car care's sub-prime lender) So when I bought the car I was told I would have an 18% interest rate and a 3 year term. I have never gotten any written materials from this lender to verify any of this. I was forced to allow them to auto debit my checking for weekly installments but have never been updated as to the progress of my repayment and have no idea what my current balance is. It was a hasty decision to buy a car from these people but they were so freindly and I had no other choice besides losing my job for attendance reasons related to a lack of transportation.

Expensive Ignorance...

If you are among the unfortunate who are dealing with a negative credit history like myself, it is obviously a long and difficult road to travel. As always making bad choices has consequences. In this case the consequence is having to deal with companies like Persian and Bangor Car Care (AKA Bumper to Bumper) They're are very few places that will deal with bad credit and it does seem like the ones that do charge outrageous interest rates, but again that's the price for having bad credit. Bangor Car Care/Bumper to Bumper is a whole different story! They pride themselves on having "quality vehicles" and not selling any vehicle that they wouldn't put their own family in? Just because I have bad credit credit does not mean that my family should be unsafe and have to settle for unfair, dishonest people just trying to make a buck! I have filed every complaint imaginable on BCC/B2B and was placed on a very long list of complaints. How is it legal that these people have been sued and shut down over and over and just keep popping up with a new name? Just because you have poor credit does not in any way mean that you should be disrespected, cheated, lied to, ripped off or unsafe! There has to be a way to stop this company, they are nothing more than common criminals that lie, cheat and steal to get what they want or need.

Persian Acceptance Corp. does indeed report to the credit bureaus every thirty days. If the customer has not received paperwork, it is their responsibility to track it down. Sometimes, mistakes happen at a dealership that sells in the neighborhood of 200 cars per month. Additionally, the customers are not forced to let anyone auto debit their account. It is strictly the finance company's policy. The customer is required to sign off on this before taking delivery of the vehicle. If the decision to purchase the vehicle was hasty, the customer only has themselves to blame.

Have you contacted the banking department, motor vehicle dept and so on?
OK, you walked into this with eyes wide shut while under duress. Now it's time to open your eyes and look for some official help to get the information to which you are entitled. And next time, do not complete any deal until you get completed and signed copies of everything you are agreeing to.......
Maybe you should start here?
maine.gov/ag/?r=protection
or here
maine.gov/ag/index.php?r=protection&s=complaints&t=
and
maine.gov/ag/?r=clg
and
maine.gov/ag/index.php?r=protection&s=vehicles&t=
info
maine.gov/portal/government/agencies.html
and if the loan company is based in Mass,
ago.state.ma.us/index.cfm
Of course, some people enlist help from Sam Colt, but I would not suggest that.....
