I was looking for a vehicle to purchase and contacted a seller via craigslist.com. The seller stated that he was selling his suv because he was about to be deployed out of the country and wanted to sell it quick.
He sent me emails from craigslist and stated that he was also selling it on ebay.com so he was going to have them contact me with the payment request. I then recieved another email from ebay saying because of the large dollar amount please send it through western union. I sent the money and then they requested another payment as a deposit. That is when I got very disturbed and asked for the transaction to be cancelled and said that I wanted my money back. Of course I did not receive any additional feedback.
I am of course now out of $3000.

Where Is Your Keeper?

You do have a keeper, I hope! Someone who will step in and prevent you from throwing common sense out the window AGAIN! Where was your keeper when you were about to do this STUPID transaction? It may be time to get a new one who will hover over you 24 hours per day.

"I am of course now out of $3000."
That's OK because a scammer is now up by $3000.
Why did you ignore all the warnings posted on craigslist? I'm referring to the bold print that clearly states:
How to recognize a vehicle scam attempt on CL:
Shipping a vehicle to you is suggested by seller
eBay Motors or another intermediary is specified by seller
Payment by Western Union or a money wire is requested
Stories about divorcees or departing servicemen needing to sell quickly at a low price are generally fraudulent
Do not buy vehicles sight-unseen, regardless of low price. The vehicle does not exist, and any money you send will be lost.
