Plainfield Animal Hospital Sent my dog to die at the hands of an unqulaified surgeon South Plainfield New Jersey

Plainfield Animal Hospital likely contributed to the death of my dog in 2017 by referring us in an emergency situation involving a complicated intra-abdominal tumor to a substandard 24-7 emergency animal hospital in Iselin, New Jersey where there was no board certified surgeon on staff.

The young, inexperienced surgeon lacked the skill set to remove or even debulk the tumor that was involved with mesenteric arteries. It is standard protocol to assign animal surgery to an ACVS (American College of Veterinary Surgeons) board certified surgeon, especially in a situation so serious and complicated as that of my dog. I was later informed by a regular veterinarian that this surgeon had failed the board exam, although she did finally pass the exam in 2018.

My ignorance about veterinary surgeons is no excuse for Plainfield Animal Hospital sending us to this very small, underequipped, horrible facility about which there are a plethora of horror stories on numerous websites regarding gross incompetence and death including photos of cockroaches on Yelp. They could have and should have sent us to any one of a number of qualified emergency hospitals that exist nearby, and there are several. I trusted their lead at our own peril.
