They broke a law, bankers are not supposed to allow them to charge a fee if the amount is under five dollars. I deposited 20 in my bank account the same day of the withdrawal, had the money in the account. The gym overdrafted my account. I am disabled, and try the best I can to work part time. My paycheck was only 30 dollars this past week. The gym charged me 35 dollars overdraft fee. They are unjust, unfair, greedy. Now I will probably not be able to work, as my main source of gasoline is from my paycheck. Now my paycheck for this next week will be negative 240.00 from two charges I didn't realize I had because I thought the bank was ok and they grabbed the 35 dollars right from my wallet. So I will never be able to catch up from this. I may lose my car, and now my storage unit because of 2.40 cents under from this bill that I could have paid the very next day taken out of my 30.00 dollar paycheck.

When I called the main corporate number, all they do is pass the phone call and tell me that is up to the billing department and to call my bank. My bank told me to call them. They ruined my job, my chances of keeping my car, and maybe lost my storage unit from all of this.

I am not going to forgive this company for their greed. This happens way too much, and for those who are struggling to pay bills, the working poor, the people who really need this service, it is a total disservice to those who are trying. I have nothing to eat for the week now, no gasoline, no storage unit - I can't access it and will lose 10 years of my personal property because of the overdrawn check for 2.40 . And since I am disabled, I really tried to work out but don't as frequently as I need to, I can't even afford my medications I need to function because of the overdraft fee.

i want pain and suffering restitution, damages, and refunds for all overdraft fees as a result of this companys GREED.

I SMELL A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT coming for this GREEDY COMPANY!

What?

AUTHOR: Walter - (United States)

Your post is very confusing. It seems you got OD fees in your bank account and yet you think the gym charged these fees. The bank is the only one that can charge fees on your account. And an overdraft of any amount will cause the $35 fee per item. Unless you mean the draft was returned unpaid and the gym charged a returned check fee, which you agreed to. There is no law saying ODs of under $5 can not be hit with a fee. Some banks have established that policy but it's not a law and the bank can do as they want as long as they tell account owners. And a really big question, if you have such limited financial resources why did you join the gym? There should be a YMCA or city run gym close to you that you could join for less money.  And finally, the only people in class actions suits that get their money is the lawyers.
