On 2/1/14, I bought a hotel voucher packet (ten 2-night stays) from his website (which is no longer on the internet as of late May 2014) for $150, and on Feb 9, 2014 I paid $100 for redemption of two of the ten vouchers for a hotel stay for Oct 19-23, 2014, which they reserved and handled with the hotel in February. However, in April 2014, when I went to redeem and reserve two more hotel vouchers, Platinum Promotions (hereafter PP) was unable to reserve the hotel room and kept making excuses. In late May, after noting their website platinumpromotions.agentstudio.com was no longer in existence, I checked with the hotel that I was first reserved for (and to be paid by Platinum Promotions) and learned PP  had canceled the room on May 9th without my knowledge. After contacting PP, they said (John Montrose Neville) they would reserve the room  again, but only did so as an individual and not as a travel agency/agent and did not guarantee any payment to the hotel! I asked for a full refund of the $250 via a Paypal invoice and PP agreed and paid by "eCheck", which bounced two times (in June 2014).  (Also, FYI, I checked with the State of Florida and they do no have a Seller of Travel registration number (required in order to sell to Florida residents) under the company name of Platinum Promotions and he refuses to give me the FL registration number he previously placed on his (now defunct) website.  I recently filed with the State of Florida Dept of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs and will be taking other actions.)

Finally, Refund Received from John Neville, Platinum Promotions

AUTHOR: Bridgette - ()

POSTED: Thursday, July 10, 2014

After also filing with the Illninois BBB in addition to the State of Florida Dept of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs and Ripoff Report.com, and after many promises of payment, I finally received a money order from "John Neville" for $250 and immediately cashed it to make sure it was good. It was. It is important to note that he and his business are NOT registered with the State of Florida as a Seller of Travel, which requires a bond be posted to protect Florida Consumers (like me), and because he sold the hotel vouchers directly to me from his business Platinum Promotions, with payment going directly to Platinum Promotions and not a licensed third party, he is and was in violation of Florida law.  If he ever operates again, I would strongly suggest that no one do business with him or his business.

More disreputable conduct

AUTHOR: Bridgette - ()

POSTED: Monday, June 30, 2014

As noted above, Platinum Promotons/John Neville had a Paypal echeck (refund) bounce twice and even though I wrote and he received a certified letter that I would only accept future payment by a certified bank check or USPS money order and only mailed to me by USPS w/signature confirmation required, he emailed me to say he was going to pay by "instant" funds via Paypal on June 26th, but June 26th came and went. Then, only June 27th, he said he had a "problem" with using Paypal. Then, on June 30th, he scanned an alleged receipt from a NON-USPS place (a friend's? or false?), saying he mailed a payment to me by priority mail, but that information does not show in the USPS tracking system!  (Need I say more?)
