I am a landlord & rented a home in Detroit, MI for 5 years to the same tenant. She was elderly & Plymouth Housing paid her rent. Due to a window shutting "too fast" they failed the inspection this year & even though my handman fixed it & sent video of it fixed they failed it again & are cancelling the lease for the house.
The tenant broke down crying because her gradnson goes to school in the neighborhood & she doesn't want to nor can afford to move. We offered to have a licensed contractor replace the window & the housing authority & Cindy Rapson refused. So now the poor old lady is being forced to move out of the home she's lived in for the last 5 years. If they were really for the community this would not be the case because we did everything we could to comply and get everything fixed they pointed out.
