Powerhouse Financial Attempted Sweepstake Scam Cerritos California

On January 15th, I received a letter postmaked in Canada informing me that I had won $250,000 in a sweepstake (North Mega Sweepstakes) that I never entered. Hmmm! Included with the letter was check for $4890.00 to cover taxes for my quarter million dollar award. Double Hmmm!! The check is authentic looking and drawn on a real branch of Bank of the West in West Covina, CA. Even the bank routing number on the check is authentic. When I called the number on the letter, there was no answer but the messaging system was full. No doubt with messages from hundreds of happy "winners".

Thanks to this site for providing the initial Ripoff notification on-line. It confirmed what I suspected. I intend to contact Bank of the West and inform them they are being used, most likely unwittingly, in this scam. I will retain this mailing. If anyone needs testimony to support a prosecution of these scumbags, please contact me through the email I provided to the site.
