I bought a new Nikon Coolpix S9300 camera online from Primotronix.com in April of 2013.  When the item arrived it wasn't in a Nikon box, but a white box with a seal on it.  No where did it say there was anything different about it.  I paid $179.99 for this camera which was standard for the price of them most places, but with shipping included.  So saving the shipping cost, I bought from them.

Everything was fine with the camera until a couple weeks ago.  The connection point of where the USB plug goes in to the camera stopped recognizing it was plugged in and allowing me to upload the photos to the computer.  I trouble shot a few things to determine what the problem was, and when I discovered it was in fact the camera, I contacted Nikon to make a claim on their standard one year warranty.  I filled out the papers online and mailed it in to them.  Then I received an email telling me it would be $144.55 to repair it.  And that the warranty had expired.  Feeling sure this was an error, I called them to tell them to look again.  Well, turns out, the camera wasn't NEW at all, but was REFURBISHED and Primotronix sold it to me as NEW.

Check out their web page, none of the items say they are refurbished and they even have a tag saying all equipment is new and factory sealed.  It's ALL LIES!

Now I'm in a hassle trying to get reimbursed the cost of the faulty camera, and my postage expenses to send it in and have it sent back to me from Nikon.  I fully expect these people will not contact me back, or if they do they will not reimburse me my expenses, which I never would have incurred had they sold me a NEW camera and not a REFURBISHED one and lied about it!

Primotronix also contacted me about a month after I purchased the camera and asked me to go and fill out a review for their store online.  They told me to record that I was NOT asked to fill out this review, and if I did that, and they got confirmation of the review that I was basically told what to put down in, that I would get a free camera bag, adjustable mini tripod and some other junk.  I told them I would do it only because I got my camera order pretty quickly and was pleased with it at first.

Now I see why they had to force me to give them a good review!  They were ripping people off all over the place and most of them wouldn't know for a while until the "New" equipment they bought began to break again because they were really refurbished.

It's not worth the hassle or the imagined money you will save buying from them.  LESSON LEARNED!  PRIMOTRONIX is a disreputable company and no one should ever buy from them!
