the property room knowingly sold me a stolen black berry and refuses to refund my $$$.. now i have an expensive paper weight since there is nothing i can do with it.. do not do biz with these people.. they are not honest!!! they said tough luck it's in our disclaimer that we dont have to give you a refund.. why would i buy a phone that i cant activate? why would they knowingly sell a phone that cant be activated? i dont have a lot of $$ and i should have just taken the money i spent and flushed it down the toilet, would have been the same results.. buyer be very aware!!!

i got a call from the customer service supervisor and she started off by apologizing for the customer service rep that was so rude to me and told me she shouldnt have said tough luck but should have taken the phone back and given my $$ back.. she then told me that they would be having a serious talk later  that day.. she sent fed ex out the next day to pick up the phone at their expense and gave me a full refund that showed up in my bank account today.. she went out of her way to make it right for me..

i did contact customer service at property room and was told tough luck.. this was after i contacted verizon and they told me it was stolen from a store in 2010 and couldnt be activated.. i am not very tech savvy and didnt understand to check it or that  ii had to.. why didnt the listing say it was stolen or couldnt be activated? the listing did say it was new and in a sealed box (the box was not sealed)..  i am also on unemployment and my current phone is on the fritz so i was looking for a reasonably priced phone so employers could contact me..

Hello,

My name is Brad, and I work for Property Room. I came across your complaint, and wanted to take a moment to respond.

Property Room sells cell phones that have been recovered by police and other municipal departments. If the previous owner reported their cell phone stolen, then it would indeed be turned off.

When this is the case with a cell phone being auctioned on Property Room, it is our policy to state this is the description of the item. We also provide both the Carriers 800 number and the ESN number on our listings.

This information allows the customer to research whether the phone is on the stolen list or not. We also state in the listing that it does not come with service and may be reported stolen.

You should be able to contact the carrier and have the phone - or Blackberry in your case - reactivated.

If you don't believe that your auction had this notification, you can contact our Customer Support department at CustomerSupport@PropertyRoom.com. They can research your auction listing and, if the notification was indeed left off in error, we would be more than happy to give you a full refund.

I hope this information helps resolve your issue, and makes you feel more comfortable using Property Room in the future.
