To Whom it may concern:

I spoke with Randy Union yesterday. His direct phone number is (800) 653-8908, ext. 107. I had submitted an application online for health insurance quotes, and Randy was quick to call me on my cell phone. He offered me a plan for $179.00 per month, and when I told him that that was more than I could afford, Randy lowered the price to $99.99 immediately. He then proceeded to explain the plan, using a lot of up-to's in his million-mile-per-hour sales pitch (will cover up to 60%, etc.). Mr. Union told me that he would mail me the paperwork and that if anything should happen to me between now and then, I would be covered, since the plan would be effective immediately. He then immediately asked me to pull out a debit or credit card and tell him whether it started in a zero or a four. I told him I was not ready to make a final decision, as I was a little suspicious and wanted to do a bit of research online. He assured me that the website I submitted my application through was a reputable site, and that they would never in a million years jeopardize their reputation by selling their leads to dishonest companies. Immediately he asked for my credit card number again. Once more, I told him I was not ready. He then told me that he just needed to get me in the system (or something like that) so that I could be sent an email explaining the plan, and then he asked what my checking account number began with! I told him that if he asked again, he would loose my interest completely. He got very stern with me and snapped back irritably, Now Bryan, I have three hundred applications on my desk right now. I cannot help you if you are going to be resilient with me. I politely thanked him and hung up the phone.

I feel that Randy misrepresented the plan he was offering as a health insurance plan, when it is not. It is clearly stated on the company's website that it is not health insurance. I do think that people affiliated with Randy and his Protective Life plan which he is trying to sell should be aware, as it will certainly jeopardize their reputations and credibility. Randy knew that if I hung up the phone and did my research, I would easily discover that the plan was not health insurance, and would not buy from him. I found his salesmanship very dishonest.

Sincerely,

BB
