 we had been watching a particular house in the town we live in. It was in an online auction and we found out over a year's time that it needed water run to it, new cabinet doots and some floori ng done and would have been an easy fix for us. After all the hard work of making sure we could do it affordably etc. We did the online credit application. We spent days getting the neccessary documents they needed and then we waited. A few days went buy and we were told that we qualified, so we wrapped up the bidding and went for closing. While that went back and forth, we ran all over the city and county getting requiremenrs and bids to be able to turn them in to ranlife for the fixer-upper loan they said we qualified for. At literally the last minute, they backed out saying we didn't qualify because we didn't pay enough taxes and altho we grossed $150,000 the past 2 years and paid in thousands in taxes those years...as jarhad said...someine has to oay taxes. People like you make it hard on people like me..." I explained that with riad raxes, fuel taxes and various income taxes; we paid way more than he did. He git angry and called us tax Dodgers and to come back some day when we can bring ourselves to pay more taxes. Our hearts sank. We yse H&R Block to avoid over paying and we have worked since 2011 on both back taxes my new husband owed and our credit scores; paying thousands of dollars in the process It would have been our dream home and we could have paid it off in a few years, so we were so excited.
