Regency Finance Company ripoff mistreated and ripped off Allentown Pennsylvania

I took out a loan with this company. I had made consecutive payments for 10 months, at that time I was given a phone call telling me, due to my good standing, they were offering me an additional $500.00 cash, or I could refinance my loan to lower my payments.

Due to the fact that I was pregnant and due in a couple of months, I told them refnancing would be great, as soon as I was out of work. They also told me that when we did refinance, I would have 2 months payment free until the 'new' loan started. Sounds great!!

When we did refinance, one month after our baby was born, they did lower my payments, but extended the loan for another year, and my first 'new' payment was due in (30) days. They also asked us to fax them certain paperwork on the next business day.

My husband faxed them the paperwork they asked for, and they called us the following day saying they didn't receive it, so my husband faxed it again. Again, we received a call, they didn't receive it. So again, my husband faxed it, and no phone call. So we assumed they finally received it.

My first payment was 12 days late, due to my returning to work. I called them to make the payment over the phone, and inform them I had returned to work. During this phone call, the manager proceeded to call me nasty names, such as irresponsible, and a liar.

He said they never got the paperwork, and that we lied about sending it, and that they were tied of dealing with 'people like us'. He then told me they were going to repossess the vehicle I had financed with them, which wasn't even a month late, and that they were going to sue us for the balance of the loan.

They did repossess my vehicle, and we just recieved civil complaint papers. Is this how they treat their customers all the time?? We were wrongfully treated and I want to warn everyone about dealing with this company. They are VERY unproffesional, and very judgemental.

We were good paying clients and because one payment was 12 days late, was no reason to talk to me the way they did, and destroy our credit this way. And they said they were nice enough to help us out by refnancing!! I was offered it!!
