I was contacted by my leasing agent to have work done on a property which I currently rent. I received a letter today stating that repairs were being done at my expense, and chose to confront the realtor about this. He turned negative and rude. And stated "I will have you put out on your butt".
So far there is no oversight to realtors who are rogue elements of society. They think they can act or do anything they want and get away with it. Not here. I call them on it, and instead of cooperating with showings by having the place clean and fit, I choose to no longer clean and have my days interrupted.
This guy is rude and nasty, and acts like he is owed something. Remax claims their honest and have integrity, but they don't. One little old lady looking at the house asked about the roof, and did the realtor stop and tell her it needed a new roof, no, I did.
I find that this person has no clue what the price of real estate really is, and is attempting to defraud people by selling a lemon.
What a crook!

Excellent Real Estate Agent
AUTHOR: justaguy1945 - (USA)

Jeff Barker has handled three real estate transactions for me in the past. Two of these were very small transactions for which his commission probably barely covered his expenses and he certainly did not get rich off of the third transaction either. I found him to be attentive and conciencious, and I would use him again in a heartbeat if I were to ever buy or sell property in the Lynchburg area again.

Barker is arrogant!

Barker is an arrogant real estate agent, for certain. He's a know-it-all and WILL NOT return a call if he doesn't think it will directly make him money. If you need a simple question answered, forget it. He WILL NOT call you back.
His office is full of agents who are terrible. STAY AWAY from them and him.

Then why doesn't he follow the ethical rules of the NABOR

If he is so trustworthy then why doesn't he follow the ethics of NABOR and tell buyers of problems with properties upfront!
Lets face it he is SCUM!

Jeff Barker is an Honest Stand-Up Individual

I have done business with Jeff Barker many times, and he is an hoinest, uprighT and trustworthy individual, quite unlike the self-confessed pain who complained about him here.
Jeff sold our house and made a great job of it. He then helped arrange rented accommodation in which we stayed for almost 2 years.
It seems we have someone complaining about Jeff whilst admitting that he is making life difficult for Jeff - that's a paradox if ever I heard one.
Take no notice of the complainant, and put your trust in Jeff.

Jeff Barker is no ripoff

I came across this file searching for Jeff Barker's office number. I am currently renting a house from Jeff and i would like to say that he is a stand up guy. He is very honest and a gentleman when communicating. If anyone comes across this report i hope you read this rebuttal because the accusations in this report of false. I could not be happier with Jeff in my renting experiences with him and also on a personal note my Mother has dealt with Jeff as a Realtor when she worked at a local bank here in Lynchburg. She has had nothing but wonderful things to say about Jeff as a person and as a professional. As i said before, i am renting from Jeff right now and could not be happier. When i make the transition into looking for a home to buy i will be asking for Jeff's help. I hope this clears up any confusion for anyone looking for honest information on Jeff Barker

How can you be involved in the property dispute, you do not own the property

What exactly is the property dispute here? Since it is not your property, how can you be involved in a dispute with property that is owned by someone else?
It seems that Remax is trying to sell the home that you are renting. You openly tell how you are doing everything that you can to thwart the sale. You openly brag on keeping the place trashy and unappealing for sale. Remax is trying to sell the home for the real home owner. You are trying to stop and control the sale of a home that does not belong to you. You are doing this so you will not have to move. I would think that the your renters contract allows them to do what they are doing. Either your lease has expired, or there is a clause that allows them to sell the house and you would have to leave. The actual home owner and the owners representative do have a right to enter the home for inspections. You have the right to be there and be provided notice for those inspections.
You throw up the smoke screen about real estate agents. No question that there are many bad ones out there. You, as a renter, also have a duty of good faith to the owner of the property that you are living in. Your whole intent is obvious, you are putting on a spin to make yourself look like the victim. If you want to continue living there so much, buy the place yourself.

This guy is still rude and nasty beware!
His excuses are self serving, and he lied about the content of our conversations.
My private rental is not his public business.
He should have been professional enough to deal with the situation properly!

Reply to tenant complaint
AUTHOR: Jeffrey - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, July 10, 2007
This ripoff report speaks for itself but I will file a clarification. The landlord of the subject property asked me to compile a list of any repairs necessary at several of his properties which he had listed for sale with me,which I did and e-mailed to him which he forwarded on to his property management company. The leasing agent mistook the work order from the landlord to mean the tenant should complete the work ordered and sent the tenant a letter to fix the problems at the property(which the tenant was not responsible for)I was the listing agent for the property and had nothing to do with th property management or any repair work. The tenant (John) called me and began accusing me of "turning him in" being a "rat" "going behind his back" ETC.I tried to explain that obviously a mistake was made and that all I did was compile a list of suggested repairs and e-mailed it to the seller and he would not be responsible for any work to the property that he did not cause, to be fixed and that if he would call the leasing company(whose name was on the work order letter he received) they would straighten it out prompty. He continued, saying it was all my fault, my for sale sign was in the yard, and I was the one he was coming after. I hung up on him. He called back even more irate and yelling at me over the phone and we had basically the same conversation we just had. I tried to explain again about the leasing company correcting the mistake, and that he would not have any responsibility to fix any of the issues I had detailed in my e-mail to the seller and he continued accusing me and being nasty on the phone. He also said he would not allow me to have access to the property any more to try and sell it and he would makeke things very difficult for me and that he would have the police come if I steeped foot on the property.I told him if he continued I would have the landlord end his lease (since it is my job to sell the property as the seller had asked me to do and now I would not be able to access the property because of the tenants threats)) and hung up again. He e-mailed several days later talking about how he is at home all day and is very good on the computer and I quote from the e-mail he sent "your reputation online will go down to zero before I finish filing reports"As for the little old lady who he referenced in his complaint and how I didn't explain to her about possible issues with the property and tried to take advantage of her, she was a seasoned investor who knew exactly what the condition of the property was and who I could not represent because I was the listing agent and my duty is to the seller. Regardless of any of this, this man was a tenant who had no business speaking to anyone about the property because he did not own it and any issues he had concerning the property or work to be done should have been addressed to the leasing agency which he seemed not able to comprehend.I have been selling real estate for 23 years in Lynchburg and have never had a complaint filed against me until now.
