Mark Kotek with Mortgage Depot Inc. a.k.a. Rescue Mortgage told me he could beat the competitions rates, save me $200.00/month, and close the deal in just over a week. Sound to good to be true? Well it was.

It turned out Mark had gotten my info from a previous company he had been working for, and taken my info when he left. A fact I found out later after we had already committed to the loan proccess, a fact he asked me not to tell his previous employer should they contact me.

Almost from the start working with Mark Kotek & Mortgage Depot was a hassle and it only got worse. Mark would tell me one set of numbers over the phone, the numbers on the paperwork he sent me didnt match. The difference was over $2,500.00 When I asked what that was he said it was cash out to us, which we hadn't asked for.

The appraiser they sent was almost 2 hours late. The closing agent they sent was over an hour late, and I had taken an hour off from work to close on the loan! By the time she showed up I had to go back to work.

When we started to sign the papers I noticed noticed the numbers didnt match what Mark had told me. No $2,500.00 cash out, only 1,300.00 cash out and almost $2,000.00 in extra closing costs he had failed to inform us of. Needless to say we didn't sign the papers.

I called Mark who of course claimed ignorance to all these things and assured me that "this is not how he does business". I had already paid for the appraisal so I took Mark at his word and give him another chance. We set another closing date, I talk to him again about all the loan ammounts, closing costs and fees to make sure they are all what they should be.

The day of the second closing, two hours before we are set to close I called Mark to just make sure everything was the same as he had told me two days previously. Wouldn't you know it, there were additional funds that needed to be taken into account that once again he failed to realize!

I told him I would not be doing business with him or his company and asked for a copy of the appraisal I had paid for. He told me he would put it in the mail that day.

That was over a month ago and I still have not received my appraisal. Every time I call his office I am automaticaly transfered to his voice mail. I called the corporate office and was transfered to the voice mail of the president of that office. NO ONE HAS EVER RETURNRD MY CALLS!!

If your looking to refinance your home do yourself a favor, STEER CLEAR OF MORTGAGE DEPOT a.k.a. RESCUE MORTGAGE and MARK KOTEK!
