Reservations.com Charging hidden non-refundable fees Internet

Reservations.com claims to be a hotel reservation service but it is actually a scam for collecting hidden service fees. Reservations.com charges non-refundable hidden service fees that are unknown until they show up on a credit card statement. The existence of an extra fee, the amount of the fee, and the non-refundability of that fee, are not revealed.

Hotels routinely allow complete cancelation and full refunds until shortly before the time of the reservation. The only part of the reservations.com fee that is not refundable is the fee to reservations.com.

Users often do not even know that they are using reservations.com until it is too late. The reservations.com web brower display looks like the web site of the actual hotel, except for an unobtrusive reservations.com logo in the corner of the web browser display. The web page appears to be the web site of the actual hotel, when the reservation is actually being made through a separate company that charges a hidden fee.

I double checked this just now by working through the process of making a reservation right up until clicking the "complete reservation" button. The reserations.com fee is mentioned only in a hidden side bar of the web page. There is no indication of who is charging the fee or what is it for or that it is non-refundable. Unless the user opens the hidden side bar they could not know that the fee is there at all.
