This puppy producer puts a lot of time and energy into marketing her puppies.
She places her puppies in cute little costumes for the world to see however the following photos of her kennel speak volumes about her ethics and the misery that is behind those cute little puppy photos that you see on her websites.
The following photos are actual photos taken of her Kennels at 385 Keith Salem Road Ringgold Ga. in July of 2013.
The heat under those tarps out in the broad open sun during the summer days in Georgia is stifling and the photos do not allow you to smell the stench that permeates the air. It just sinks into your clothing.
In some of the photos you will see that she has fans that are to cool the dogs down. Air from a fan may cool a human down, but dogs have a totally different method of keeping themselves cool.
Dogs do not sweat to cool themselves down as humans do. When humans perspire the sweat evaporates into the air and it is this evaporation that cools our bodies. Putting a fan on a human will give him relief from the heat. All it does for a dog is just blow hot air across him.
Dogs cool themselves by panting. The air is quickly moved across the inner membranes of the nose and this cools them down. Brachycephalic breeds such as Bulldogs have a nose that is much shorter than normal.
This is why Bulldogs overheat given the same conditions as say a German Shepherd.
The Airlines know this and restrict the shipment of snub nosed breeds of dogs during warmer months. There have been hundreds of deaths just on plane flights alone.
Karla is very aware of these needs as well. She had at least one dog that died while being shipped.
Here is the link: http://www.uship.com/profile/755637288/
Here is a clipping of her instructions to a shipper that she was using to transport a dog.
Karla L states “Also bulldogs need air-conditioning at all times during the summer so you will need to keep her cool.
Karla L states “This bulldog died in transit. A necropsy was done and it was determined that she died from heat exhaustion. In other words she died because she got too hot. This person should not transport animals because of lack of care. When I placed this ad I stated in the ad that bulldogs require air-conditioning at all times. Apparently this was not done. Please make sure the person you hire has knowledge of the breed you are shipping. Also, we did not know he did not have a license to transport animals.”
Response from tcbigo: (The Shipper)
1st off I'm sorry this happened, the copy I received from the vet stated that she died from heat or stress which means he is not sure. 2nd she was sick and having trouble breathing when I picked her up from breeder which you knew. 3rd she was with me for an hour and a half with the ac on, that is why I used my car because van ac went out. Fourth the vaccine papers stated a different breed and not the one for this dog. I have handled this breed before with no problems, my feedback tells all.
By your own statement in the previous paragraph that I have highlighted yellow, do you not agree that you should not be allowed to breed animals because of lack of care. Just how many dogs have died at your kennel because of heat exhaustion?
Karla please look at your kennels and what you are putting your dogs through.
Just look and you can see how miserable the dogs in the photos are.
Just imagine having to elect between standing in mud or having to sit on a filthy block that is caked in hair, mud and feces just to keep out of the mud. It is a miserable existence.
Think about being kept in a dark dungeon type atmosphere under heat trapping tarps. Not to mention the freezing weather.
The stench of rotting feces, ammonia, maggots and mold.
Industrial chemical tanks converted into dog houses. Chemicals continue to leach from tanks and fill the houses for years.
Look at the poor dogs neck and eyes. A veterinarian is needed.
Just how do you expect the bulldog in the photo with the bucket of water to get his short neck over the edge and down into that bucket to drink the nasty water?
Just how much would it cost to take care of these dogs properly? The puppies sell for thousands. Quit being greedy and have some compassion. If you don’t care about dogs and I will never believe you care, please go find something you are passionate about.
Compare the following photos to the photos at the website Prisoners of Greed.

Once you view the photos at the website tell me if you think Karla Lowes Kennels deserves the title Prisoners of Greed.
Karla it is unconscionable to keep dogs in these conditions!

I purchase a english bulldog a few years ago from Karla. She was very professional. She was the one who tolds me that the dogs had to be flown as a carry on because they could not go into the cargo hold. I meet a friend of hers at the airport and recieved my puppy. Also i loved he website because it had instructions on how to care for the bulldogs. I could call her at anytime or email her if i had questions....i would deffinatly buy another dog from her!!!

PICTURES OF MY KENNELS!!

Here are some pictures of my kennels. Anyone is welcome at any time to check things out for themselves, and to feel free to call me at any time. I have a 100% approval rate on my AKC inspections as well as my Department of Agriculture inspections. I am in good standing with both. If you have been to visit my former kennels or my new kennels then you know I take good care of my dogs and that this report is full of false information.
Please understand that the woman who submitted this report (Priscilla Deal) has never been a customer and has no personal experience with my dogs. She submitted this report in an effort to tarnish the reputation of my business because of personal issues she has with me.
If anyone else has had the same experience with Pricilla Deal slandering them and making false statements please feel free to contact me through the information on my website.

Very pleased with karla lowes french bulldogs!!

I have purchased THREE french bulldog puppies from karla over the last year. In fact, I just purchased my third this week from her. I have been thoroughly pleased with the health, beauty, and temperament of all three of these fur babies. Each has been vet examined at each designated time, and my vet has found each pup completely healthy. All were worm free when purchased and well taken care of. I am subscribed to many frenchie sites thru social media, and I read of prominent skin and bone disorders which are prevalent in this breed. None of my three have had any issues! Karla has been a blessing to me, as she has been a superb breeder of beautiful and healthy pups, and has been just a text or phone call away for any questions or concerns I may have as a new frenchie mom. In addition, karla has invited me to her home and kennels. She also will meet anyone within a reasonable distance, if that method is preferred. I would recommend karla Lowe of ringgold, ga. to anyone who is looking for frenchie puppies. I found hers to be among the most beautiful, healthy, and affordable!

This is totally inaccurate!

I have known Karla for over 20 years and find this report totally preposterous! She is a true animal lover who works very hard caring for her dogs. Over the years I have gotten three beautiful, healthy dogs from her. I've been a frequent guest in her home and have toured her kennels many times and have always found both the home and the kennels to be clean and well-maintained.
A lot of time and money was invested in the block buiulding that housed the kennels in their previous home. Knowing Karla, I'm confident the kennels at her new location will be of the same caliber. She had a temporary setback because of the move and a streak of bad weather that made it difficult to maintain the high standard of care that she has always given her dogs. But it was not for a lack of effort and caring on her part!
When one of Karla's dogs is nearing her delivery date, Karla brings the dog into her house where she can keep close watch over her and tend to her needs. Once the puppies are born, she keeps them and the mother in the house and gets up several times during the night to make sure the puppies are fed.
It angers and scares me that someone would sneak around Karla's house and take pictures without her knowledge or permission. To me, that is a red flag and a sign that the writer of the report is devious and untrustworthy. Don't believe him!

Total Lies!

I give Karla credit, she handled your accusations very well. As for me, I want to call you horrible people out as liars, story tellers, and tresspassers. You ought to be ashamed of yourself and owe this woman a huge apology.
I purchased not only one but two bulldogs from her in the past. She loves those dogs more than you all know, and would do anything for them. When I purchased my first dog from her I spoke with her veterinarian (as a reference) and they stated she takes very good care of her dogs and they are always in excellent health.
My first puppy was shipped to me (by my choice, and yes it was July)and he arrived in very good health, with plenty of food and water. He was not panting, or overheated. He was shipped early morning in the cooler hours because Karla REFUSES to ship her pups when temps are not safe.
My second pup I got a year later, and this time I drove to pick my puppy up. Her kennels DO NOT look like those rediculous pictures you people doctored up. The puppies and adults were all clean, odor free, and well fed. There was NO mud, NO urine or feces, NO unhealthy dogs. I saw a group of well bred, healthy, well socialized bulldogs. She was very willing to let me see all her dogs and take pictures of them. So I have my pictures too if anyone wants to see a true story and not this garbage slander.
Not only does Karla put her pups in cute outfits...she gives weekly updates and pictures, as well as paperwork on the pups parents, and guarantees. She is constantly available after you get your pup to answer any questions or give advice on bullies. I am lucky to have found such a caring breeder. Karla takes pristine care of these dogs because she is a responsible breeder with an impecable love for her bullies. So go ahead and think she puts alot into the marketing, she also puts a lot into the lives of these dogs. She loves each and every one of them and youre going to have a hard time proving otherwise.
I am not a blindsided puppy lover if youre thinking "how naive". I am a NYS LVT. I am trained and licensed to know the proper care, health, and living conditions of animals. Nothing you portrayed on that rainy day was unacceptable. Where are the pictures of the mounds of feces you speak of? Where are the pictures of the maggots? I did not see any abnormal green goopy eye discharge? Did you know bulldogs have summer allergies such as hay fever that can produce a normal amount of eye discharge without causing infection or irritation to the eyes? Did you forget English Bulldogs sometimes have eyelids that can naturally cause some discharge, especially when they have droopy eyelids?
Yes these puppies do cost thousands. They cost a lot to care for daily, breed, and deliver by c-section. They cost a lot to breed healthy dogs to represent the breed. It costs a lot for vet visits, shots, dewormings, preventatives, microchipping. Go ahead and spend less on an English Bulldog and see what you end up with! A poorly bred dog with health problems that looks like a boxer. NO THANKS! ';d rather get my dogs from Karla!
As far as I am concerned this is a sad case of a report, and a waste of time. Shame on you for putting her in this position. Hopefully no one out there will read this and believe you because its all garbage. Get a life and leave other peoples lives alone.
Karla you keep up the good work and I hope to get another lovely bully from you in the future.

The Truth

As most of you know we recently moved to a new home. Of course along with our move came our dogs.
There are some pictures taken of our previous kennels before we moved below so that you can see the care and money we put into our dogs. We eventually enclosed the whole thing in and they had heat and air.
But unfortunately when we moved we had to put the kennels under an old barn just until we got the concrete poured. It worked out well until we had record rains and flooding in our county for two weeks solid. This was a nightmare for me as well as my dogs. And if any of you know what a mess it can become on outdoor kennels when it rains for two weeks solid then you know what I am talking about. We were constantly raking out the wet straw and replacing it with fresh straw to help keep the dogs clean and dry. So the last day of rain I spent several hours raking out the wet straw after pouring rain all night. Just so you know the dogs were NOT getting rained on because they have tarps over their kennels. But the run off rain came right under the straw.
They also had the dog houses they could go into and not be stepping in the wet straw. I thought that most of the rain was done for a couple days, so I raked all the wet straw out and piled it in a big pile (that you can see in a picture along with wheel barrels and wagons) then hooked up my trailer to go load up on more dry straw. I have the receipt if you don’t believe me. When I got back I then put fresh straw in all the kennels, cleaned water buckets etc… We actually had our gravel for our concrete delivered and waiting for them to do the concrete that week to get the dogs off the muddy straw but because of the record rains they could not do the job that week. Our dogs have never been in mud before. But I assure you it was only for one day. Anyone that has been to my home knows I take very good care of my dogs. I do not sell sick puppies and have a high rate of repeat customers because my puppies are so healthy and well adjusted.
Now for the second part of the story.
A week before these pictures were taken I went with a friend to buy dogs from someone. They took advantage of him and over charged him and I spoke up about it because it was not right of them.. They said they would retaliate and said “it’s on now.”
So they could not find anything in over 20 years of me breeding dogs to smear my name. So as my luck would have it when we were having our floods they decided to drive the 6 hours one way and stake out my place until they could take some pictures. The only time I was gone that day was when I went to get more straw. So that tells me he (and I know who) was in the woods watching me until I left. Then as luck would have it again when my dogs were in a muddy mess (first time ever) he takes pictures of them. Not sure but I wondered why it seemed like they had more water and mud in the three pens then when I left. The hose was on and right next to them too. I thought that was strange in its self but even stranger was the fact that I had someone spying and watching me all morning raking the straw out.
And just to address some other issues in the report yes they all had large fans in their kennels. I open one side of the tarps part of the day when shady on that side then I open the back side around noon after the sun goes above. But I actually have bamboo shade fences now to block the sun so the tarps can stay open unless storming bad. Again, this set up was TEMPORARY AND UNTESTED! They did not take pictures of the open front because they were sneaking in my yard but the front was open. And all the ones under the barn had dry fresh straw in them.
As far as the dogs eyes looking nasty in the picture you took….anyone is welcome to come look at my dogs. They are all healthy with no eye problems except one has a cherry-eye right now. The dog we got from you had a discharge from her eyes when we got her but after antibiotics she is cleared up. It is just how the picture looks…they look nothing like that in real life.
As far as a couple buckets being to high….I have stepping stones up to them for them to step up on so their necks don’t rub the buckets. I only have two of those buckets and will replace them.
And that long dramatic story about me having a puppy die while being shipped is not being told right. Years ago a friend in Michigan was giving me her dog. SHE picked a shipper of U-ship and a man picked the dog up in a van and two hours into the trip the dog died of heat stroke. Nothing really to do with me. I did not set all that up. I always use my puppy nanny to take my pups as carry-on. I have never had a puppy die in transit. I have used her for several years. At least I have not shipped the wrong puppy like you and then not answered desperate phone calls from the person that got the wrong puppy when they picked it up at the airport. They were asking for you to correct the mistake and you would not answer emails or phone calls.
Once again you are only showing the three kennels that got wet and the rest were not like that. Don’t you think I was horrified too at the flooding and my poor dogs going through this? I assure everyone that reads this; it was corrected as fast as possible and will never happen again because my new kennels will be done in two weeks if weather permits this time.
Now there is one other thing I might need to mention. Priscilla and Terry were trespassing onto my property. Not to mention some other illegal things like stalking and harassment. And yes I can prove it’s you Terry that came here and hid in the woods like a ninja. Priscilla you even forgot that since you had other complaints on here it picked up your name and put it on this complaint automatically.
I am so sorry to all that my dogs got muddy one day because of an act of nature. I did not know the water would run under the kennels where they were sitting because they had not been there long. And anyone can look up our weather for that week and the previous week and see that we had severe flooding. In working with the department of agriculture we made some changes to ensure the transition from our other kennel to our new one goes more smoothly. I have never had dogs that were not on concrete before but I am making an effort to get my new kennels done as soon as possible so that my dogs stay healthy and happy. And people are welcome to visit. I have had no complaints in 20 years. All I can do is move forward and make sure this never happens again.
