Ripandscam.com posted my photo and personal information and accused me of being a "love scammer"

I was seeking more work from home contracts.  I applied at several places, one of which I'd hoped to contract with for some time.  The company finally seemed to be interested, but upon running a background check, they evidently came upon information which was considered "negative"  It involved this site and one other site, and had listed me, with my real photo and name (and email address, and phone number, etc etc) as a "love scammer", which I take to mean that comebody accused me of using dating sites to get men to like me.  Not only is this ridiculous in its total conception, but they don't do any form of verification.  They simply charge people to join, then post whatever complaints the member might have.  

I contacted the website, and got an email back full of defensiveness.  The site took no responsibility for what happened to me, and acted as if they'd saved people billions of dollars.  No regret over the harm caused me or anybody else.  They may have taken the page down with my info on it, but when my main email address I have had for 16 years is googled, negative information comes up in Google.  This is very distressing to me, because I use the email addy to apply and write letters of interest.

This is frightening, because it can literally happen to anybody.  I have never scammed anybody, and haven't been on a dating site in many years.  But anybody who is angry or wants some kind of revenge against somebody else, can simply report them on sites like theses.  This has cost me two jobs.  Arguably, I wouldn't like to work for anybody who believes the poorly written and unverified information on the sites, but it's obviously being reported by some of the companies people commonly use to run background checks.  I'm going to contact some of those as well, to notify them that people are being unjustly accused, and possibly losing income because of this.

Be careful!  Your real personal information can end up on sites like this.  All it takes is a mentally ill person with a grudge of some kind.  I'm not even sure who reported me, because I can't think of anybody I have made that angry!  I live a quiet life.  And now I have to check into this, to be sure whether or not I can take any legal action against these companies.
