safe auto falsifying prices columbus, Ohio
*UPDATE EX-employee responds: Pennsylvania Forms
I have a good driving record. Safe Auto sent me a letter telling me that they reduce my premium accordingly. Every time I went to make make a payment they raised the price every time. They always give the excuse that there is some change in the paperwork that needs to be made.

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds
Pennsylvania Forms
AUTHOR: Jerome - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Friday, May 27, 2011
I am a former Sales Agent for Safe Auto Insurance Co. I sold auto insurance for this organization for almost seven years. A good amount of my business was in Pennsylvania. I understand your frustration with an ever increasing premium, but there are good reasons for that. In the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania anyone who is an out of state insurer is required to have written proof that the coverages offered for the insured were in fact chosen by that person. So they require before the company is allowed to release proof of coverage that certain forms are returned. These forms are the rejection of Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist and rejection of stacked coverages if you chose the unstacked and the tort or Notice to Named Insured. These forms are required to be returned in ten days or the company is mandated to increase your coverage by adding these rejected coverages to your policy. This is not a rule that Safe Auto has made but that which is required by the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance. Of course, if you chose to reject your UM/UIM and had Limited Tort and failed to return your forms, then your rate will increase considerably. And if you failed to disclose traffic violations to your Sales Agent when they were writing your policy that also will increase your rate. Safe Auto does not run Motor Vehicle reports until after the policy is written in order to reduce the cost of running one on each call. I am very sorry that you were dissatisfied with Safe Auto. They attempt to offer the most affordable coverage at the lowest cost. I would suggest asking questions during the quoting process and listening a little more so as to avoid this dilemma in the future. Good Luck.
