Together they used Union Funds to buy a car for the President (George Thompson) of the Union without the members approval. Thompson also uses this car for personal use at the members expence.
Thompson does not show up for work everyday but still takes full weekly pay. The Financial Secretary (Joe Gotcher) or the Vice President (Nate Johnson) are the second signature on the check and either one always signs them WITHOUT question.
Thompson has a (almost) three (3) year history of using union funds for his persoal use.
The Amalgamated Transit Union in Washingtom, DC was made aware of most of this but I believe a false report was turned in by an International Vice President so the International just looked the other way. Besides the Local gives the International $12,400.00 ever month in dues money so why would the International want to "rock the boat"?
