where should i start with SANFORD BROWN INSITUTE OF NYC . it is a total rip off nd joke for a school. i recently completed a MA program in may 2013, i completed my externship in july 2013 . and am still without a job. i am certified according to sanford brown because i completed the program. i dont know how true that is. however upon completeing the program you are told how career services will be calling you everyday with interview oppurtnites for jobs, its been almost two months since ive finished the program, i havent been contacted ONCE FOR EVEN ONE INTERVIEW, when i called career services they just gave me a b.s. story.of how they are sending out resumes. futhermore lorriane of the externship program is another issue. she has recently been hired as senior externship coordinator, ( i dont know why because she doesnt know what shes doing, nor does she care for students with a ethnic backgound, as she talks down to you ) she placed me in a externship site that was extremely far from my house ( as i live in nj, and was placed a stop away from brooklyn) not only was the site far but was located basement level of the projects. ( nothing wrong with the projects but i have NEVER LIVED IN THE HOOD OR PTOJECTS AND WILL NOT ACCEPT WORKING IN THAT ENVIORMENT AS IT WASNT SAFE , MY FIRST DAY THERE I SAW A WOMANS PURSE GET SNATCHED AS I GOT OFF THE SUBWAY) lorriane went on vacation when i called.her for two weeks to switch my site. after being switched she tried to find any and everyhing to get me out of the school, she is supposed to be there to help people, but she would rather fail you by any means she could find. just to think they have a racist, ignorant, degrading woman ( who thinks all spanish and black ppl are late ) working to help students finalize such a crucial part of there career working there. fyi she was fired from anthem insitute for doing the same thing, subotagate students externship. plan and simple DONT GO TO THIS SCHOOL, GO TO AN ACCREDITTED COMMUNITY COLLEGE WHERE YOU WILL GET MORE INTENSIVE EDUCATION, HAVE A CHANCE OF GETTING A JOB ND WILL COME OUT ACTUALLY SAVING MONEY.

This school is a total ripoff. I graduated from the DMU program at the same school in 2009. I still, nor have I ever held any paid employment as an ultrasound tech after graduating. The problem was not that I was promised a job, more like the school representatives told me and my classmates that upon completion of the program, we would be eligible to sit for the registry exam. It turns out this is false. They made us believe that the DMU program was accredited, when in reality it was not. Supposedly they got their accreditation after 2009, but it does not apply to my group because we were enrolled in the program prior to the accreditation.
Another lie the school told us was that our teachers are M.D. I found out after graduation that this may not be true, or at least they aren't practicing M.D.
You should definitely look into if you are truely certified to be able to get a job.
I looked up online to see if there are any open lawsuits for our school... I would like to get a group together and possibly seek legal advice or to file a suit. You should do the same.
Career services gave me the same bull story...I am sure they tell everyone the same garbage.
I hope you are to find a resolution and even better yet a job... Don't give up hope.
